Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist will support the day-to-day public relations activities related to ZoomInfo’s global external communications strategy. Reporting to the Director of Communications and joining a team of three other communicators, this position will play a key role in helping ZoomInfo raise its brand awareness and recognition in the market.

ZoomInfo is a software company that delivers detailed insights about prospects, businesses, and candidates to sales, marketing, operations, and recruiting teams. Since going public in June 2020, ZoomInfo has acquired numerous companies, entered new categories, such as conversational marketing and conversation intelligence, and expanded operations geographically. 

The ideal candidate is comfortable being resourceful while balancing creative thinking with tactical and detailed execution. This role can be based out of Waltham, Massachusetts; Vancouver, Washington (Portland, Oregon area); or San Francisco, California. 



  • Support the creation of press releases, briefing sheets, media pitches, contributed articles, and more external materials
  • Coordinate executive approvals for press releases
  • Conduct outreach to media publications 
  • Manage master media lists and update them regularly 
  • Monitor for positive and negative media coverage 
  • Draft all applications for relevant industry awards and events 
  • Work with the social media team to amplify press announcements and media coverage 
  • Work with the creative team to maintain an updated press kit
  • Manage ZoomInfo’s external and internal newsroom 
  • Curate a biweekly, company-wide newsletter 
  • Own program measurement, track key KPIs for team, and report on them to leadership
  • Handle research assignments as requested by executives and other company leaders 
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the sales, marketing, operations, and recruiting industries, as well as ZoomInfo’s competitive landscape 


Skills and Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in PR, agency / journalism, or related field
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting PR programs, preferably at high-growth technology companies 
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to turn projects around quickly
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to receive feedback on all activities 
  • Well-organized with excellent planning and project management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Team-oriented disposition and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate and own cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires quick adjustments and re-calibration of priorities when business needs change
  • BA / BS in marketing, communications, journalism, a related discipline, or equivalent experience
