About the job

This position is needed to build new products that enable engagement use cases on our Messaging API. At Twilio, product managers are responsible for every aspect of the product. From concept to API design to go-to-market planning to revenue ownership. You will touch every team within Twilio, and have full responsibility and autonomy to grow your products. Working side by side with other product managers and engineering counterparts, you will collaborate to craft and deliver on the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the future of messaging at Twilio. 


In this role, you’ll:

  • Own the overall roadmap for our message scheduling product
  • Wear the Customer’s Shoes: Conduct and use market research and interviews to solve customer problems. Align with teams across Twilio to get the complete picture and cross reference your research. Be the voice of the customer in every conversation and decision, and ensure we build world class products that our customers love and value.
  • Be Bold: Own the overall roadmap for scheduling, a functionality within messaging that enables customers to configure the time a message is sent. Go beyond the use case of fixed time scheduling and explore new ways customers can configure their messages for higher engagement rates or to maintain compliant when sending in certain regions. 
  • Empower Others: Collaborate extensively with other PMs, designers, other functional teams and BUs within Twilio on their initiatives. Be an advocate and coach for other PMs. Help engineering teams focus on what is needed to create a great product experience. Facilitate quarterly planning, execute sprints in agile/scrum, manage the backlog and sprint prioritization. Collaborate with GTM teams on product launches (marketing, support, sales enablement), and dev experience teams on documentation.
  • Ruthlessly Prioritize: Ruthlessly prioritize the incremental path to solving customer problems, delivering concrete customer value at each stage. Get your hands dirty, align executives, convince peers, and coordinate dependencies to get-it-done.
  • Be an Owner: Seek out unique points of view on how Twilio can offer products that enable customers to perform marketing and engagement use cases via our Messaging API. Own product development from 0 to 1 by forming hypotheses, interviewing customers, and driving action on your recommendations. You will partner closely with Solution Engineering to validate feature requests in customer interviews, provide requirements to engineering, design the API experience and iterate based on feedback. Report on both the business and operational performance of your products and customers on a weekly basis.
  • Write it Down: Create clear, written documentation of the problems you seek to solve (and associated risks). Collaborate with other BU PMs to finesse your documentation. Present those plans to your team, BU leads and leadership.

  • Experience conducting customer or prospect interviews
  • Experience designing an API (developer experience) and managing an end to end product
  • Minimum of 5+ years of product management experience, with 7+ years of experience in a technology company (even if it’s in other non-PM functions)
  • Worked on a B2B high-growth cloud native product, APIs, or platform at scale.
  • Experience managing products/services that span across and impact horizontal teams. Work closely and collaborate with multiple partners within Product and Engineering organizations. 
  • Proven strong analytical abilities and a preference for making data driven decision


  • Experience or familiarity with the marketing messaging landscape, either directly building products as a Product Manager or integrating with APIs (like Twilio) to enable messaging


This role will be in Bay area or Remote in the US.
