Toast is looking for a Senior Director, Investor Relations to join our Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and execute an investor relations strategy that will be critical to the growth and strategic direction of the company. Reporting into the Vice President, Strategic Finance & Investor Relations, you will partner with the key stakeholders across the organization to position our company’s vision & build our relationships with the investment community. 

 

About this roll* (responsibilities):

  • Lead the execution of our investor relations strategy that is consistent with the company’s vision and financial plans. 
  • Serve as a primary shareholder point of contact, building relationships with members of the investment community including institutional investors, analysts, bankers and trading desks. 
  • Develop and drive strategies to communicate Toast's story to the investment community.
  • Provide senior management with feedback and recommendations related to discussions with the investment community, as well as commentary regarding events within the market and industry.
  • Partner with finance, accounting and business leaders to analyze key business initiatives and trends to distill into our external narrative. 
  • Develop investor engagement schedule to engage and support investors analysis of the company through non-deal roadshows, conferences, company visits and bus tours by analysts/investors, and other events. Advise on and support all aspects of investor marketing including non-deal roadshows, conferences and bus tours.
  • Lead the management of competitor and peer analysis and benchmarking, including earnings reviews.
  • Advise executive management concerning significant trends, competitive landscape, shareholder concerns that may impact the company. 
  • Lead the management of quarterly earnings release process including preparation of executive management scripts, presentation slides, and Q&A documents, in addition to close partnership on SEC filings.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks including scheduling meetings and phone calls, logging interactions with the investment community, managing the Investor Relations website and registering the management team for conferences.
  • Develop investor related materials including non-earnings press releases, executive talking points, and content and presentations for the investor website . 
  • Collaborate with finance and legal teams on SEC filings. 

 

Do you have the right ingredients* (requirements):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Previous leadership experience in investor relations (preferably SaaS) with a background in finance (preferably includes sell-side research or investment banking). 
  • Proven track record of building positive long-term relations with the investor and analyst community. 
  • Expertise in capital markets and performance metrics for public companies. In-depth understanding of valuation and financial modeling techniques used by investors and analysts to understand a company’s operating and financial performance. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong writing and the ability to create high-quality presentations and materials.
  • An ability to articulate company and industry information and hone a narrative that is aligned with the corporate vision. 
  • Ability to steer communications for roadshows and investor meetings; thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
