About the team

The Partnerships Strategy & Operations (PSO) team is responsible for the implementation, long-term health, and scalability of our partner operations, and works across the payment method, card, and bank partners that underpin Stripe’s financial stack. Today, Stripe is live in 40+ markets and the PSO team is situated across multiple global offices to support Stripe’s growth around the world. 

What you’ll do

The Americas PSO team sits within Stripe’s Partnerships organization and is a key component of Stripe’s success. We sit at the intersection of engineers and financial partners, serving as the fabric that ensures close and smooth collaboration between these parties, both of which are crucial to Stripe’s continued rapid growth. We wear a lot of hats. On any given day, you can find us driving alignment and coordination between engineering teams and financial partners on critical operational activities; identifying and investigating insights and trends from our data to inform decisions for streamlining the day-to-day management of our business; and building new tools and processes to scale our team’s impact. The partners we support have a significant impact on Stripe, and the products used by millions of our users. 

Responsibilities

  • Build and own operational relationships with key network partners
  • Work cross-functionally with a number of Stripe teams – including Engineering, Product, Business Development, and others – to build products, support deals, and drive process enhancements
  • Define SLAs and performance standards for our partners and drive efforts to implement and track commitments
  • Identify inefficiencies in Stripe’s operating model and drive new solutions (including defining technical and operational requirements) to address them
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans for new feature and partner implementations, working closely with other stakeholders and partners to ensure on-time delivery 
  • Help to define and implement metrics to measure partner health
  • Assist with incident resolution when needed, working closely with Engineering teams to drive partner communications and escalations

Minimum requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in partnerships, program management, business operations, business development, corporate development or management consulting 
  • Knowledge of and experience working with card network partners
  • Experience in partnerships related to banking, card network partners or financial services

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience managing external relationships
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: e-commerce, payments (especially acquiring or gateway services), or payment technologies
  • Basic to intermediate SQL skill
  • Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing data to support partnership objectives
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with a track record of aligning different teams’ priorities to drive commitment to a shared goal
  • Strong program management skills with experience driving medium-to-large sized technical projects with external partners and cross-functional internal stakeholders 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a talent for articulating partnership challenges
  • The ability to prioritize and remain focused under pressure, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • The willingness to travel, when necessary
