Spotify’s Technology Procurement team is searching for an experienced Technology Vendor Program Manager for our VMO. We are rapidly growing vendor governance of established and new vendors.
The Vendor Management Office consists of vendor relationship managers within Tech Procurement that help Spotify engineers adapt quickly and thrive. In this role, you would make a significant and direct impact on how Spotify works and serves audio to hundreds of millions of people per day. As part of the Platform Mission, we partner with teams across Tech Procurement and Spotify. We focus on providing outstanding expertise to our partners/customers and work in Spotify’s fast-paced environment. We lead our Cloud and other strategic partnerships with a global reach. Members of the VMO build, develop, implement and maintain some of the most sophisticated global engagements around the world.
As a Technology Vendor Program Manager, you are an authority for our technology platform strategy, leading interactions and knowledge sharing with leading infrastructure vendors, giving you a front seat in the current evolution of the cloud-native marketplace. Your role will be to connect our technology strategy to the commercial and financial aspects of these partnerships together with a diverse group of technical partners. You will be involved across the entire lifecycle of these relationships. From strategy to prioritization, governance, and, finally, public celebration of joint successes. Your work will have an impact on nearly all Spotifiers!
What you’ll do
Foster technology vendor relationship management at an enterprise level, with the goal to build and maintain a healthy partnership where both partners derive value
Connect and facilitate knowledge exchange, action plans, and delivery between the Spotify engineering organization and the engineering organization from our partners
Articulate crisp technology strategy working with Spotify’s engineering organization with strategic partners
Create and deliver recommendations, tutorials, blog articles, and technical RFCs to different levels of key business and technical partners.
Work with critical vendors to coordinate proactive communications, QBRs, SPRs, and relationship management to set and update goals in the partnership
Drive program management of technical implementations and transformation initiatives.
Aid in implementing sustainable vendor management governance practices
Be the advocate for long-term Spotify interests with the vendors and help achieve them through vendor partnerships.
Support key collaborators and business leads in Cloud operations (e.g., launch/capacity planning), technical support, escalation management, or IT consulting.
Who you are
Deep understanding of critical technology for internet service companies such as cloud, continuous integration, and mobile development tools.
Confirmed experience in managing sophisticated and complicated vendors ranging from start-ups to large enterprises
Ability to articulate value from strategic technology choices in a crisp focussed manner both to our own engineering organization and to our partners
Interpersonal skills to build relationships between engineering organizations that are characterized by a high degree of transparency and trust
Experience with commercial negotiations and their interplay with strategic technology choices.
Knowledge and experience participating in engineering discussions that tackle concerns and provide solutions across multiple, global vendors
You will draw on your technical acumen and program management skills to help our stakeholders. Your previous experience with cloud infrastructure, enterprise technology implementation, strategy development, and customer advocacy will be critical in your day-to-day work to drive success.
