Senior Product Manager – Consumer Experience

Spotify

  • Full Time

Delivering the best Spotify experience possible. To as many people as possible. In as many moments as possible. That’s what the Experience team is all about. We use our deep understanding of consumer expectations to enrich the lives of millions of our users all over the world, bringing the music and audio they love to the devices, apps and platforms they use every day. Know what our users want? Join us and help Spotify give it to them.

Want to help reinvent the Spotify user experience for new content categories? We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is user-focussed, creative and analytical to join our team. We work on specialised features for music, podcasts, live, audiobooks and the innovative content types that are to come. Your team would be responsible for audiobooks. We have moved from being a music app to also be the most successful podcasting platform in the world – all in a few short years! Now we are entering the audiobooks market to improve that too. We’ll build and retain a whole new audience for them – for people who have not even considered the way listening to books can make their life richer and more enjoyable. Your impact will be across many teams, as you hold the experience vision and help other teams work together to iterate and build. You will also be working beyond audiobooks, on crafting the whole Spotify user experience. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences audio.

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive overall product vision, strategy and metrics for your own team and across the whole department and galvanize teams to follow you
  • Partner with your tech, design and insights ‘squad quad’ to lead your team and foster a culture of impact and performance. Your team will have 6-10 engineers on iOS and Android.
  • Work closely with senior leaders across Spotify to make sure that we provide for the company’s short- and long-term goals
  • Work relentlessly to ensure we’re doing the right things while not spreading too thinly. A healthy balance of innovation, support and maintenance is key for all successful teams at Spotify.
  • Use a range of insights and techniques to test your hypotheses and deeply understand our usersStay on top of Spotify’s strategic and competitive position, filtering this down to your team
  • Informally lead the team, but you won’t line manage people. That’s a potential career path for the future from this role.
  • As part of the Core X collective: improve the overall product experience by leading on key initiatives, feeding back on the work of others, taking part in experience strategy activities and doing your part to align with the overall experience vision
  • Grow yourself and others through formal and informal learning, mentoring and feedback
  • Work fully ‘distributed’ with your team who are mainly based in Stockholm, but you can be based in any European time-zone country with a Spotify office
  •

    Who you are

  • You have worked for several years in product management in a cross-discipline team
  • You have product managed consumer experiences, with many users
  • You have some experience in a large organisation
  • You know how to communicate in a clear and engaging way
  • You care about users!
