Spotify is looking for a product manager within the product team working on the Car Thing product. The Car space provides a unique opportunity for innovation in how customers engage with audio in the car environment. The Car Thing multimodal interface is designed to give users the freedom to access the full Spotify experience and comfortably engage through voice, tactile, and touch controls depending on what is best suitable for the task at hand.
In this role, you will be responsible for a set of features and their success as well as identifying new opportunities. You will be working with a team of highly hardworking product managers, engineers, designers, and analysts, reporting to the product lead. You will have close collaboration with some of the largest tech companies in the world when they are pushing the boundaries on what is possible to do in technology. We have ambitious plans for our product and adapt quickly. Your work will have a direct impact on the day-to-day of all our customers. What you’ll do
Be responsible for a set of features, working closely with engineering, the product team – reporting to the product lead.
Define and plan features towards product objectives and roadmap prioritization.
Drive feature refinement sessions towards a cross-functional team of insights, design, and engineering.
Partner with design to turn objectives into experiences.
Partner with other teams across Spotify to understand opportunities, feasibility, and technical solutions for planning and refinement of your feature set.
Work with the insights team to ensure a strong shared understanding of the user behavior and context, quantitatively and qualitatively.
Define metrics and analyze product performance and translate into meaningful improvements with the highest impact on the user and business value.
Plan and structure your features in backlog, working closely with other PMs in the product team for prioritization to ensure the team of highly skilled engineers focuses on the most impactful work.
Drive the implementation of your features towards an engineering team, by engaging in standups, planning, and refinements sessions.
Monitor and follow up on implementations to define new iterations and identify further opportunities.
Facilitate meetings and workshops to help drive team momentum
Ensure the squad understands the vision and strategy; collaborate with engineering to break down and prioritize the work into a backlog.
Who you are
You have proven experience as a product manager, working with agile development teams building extraordinary consumer products.
You have experience of evolving products in the market.
You have a solid understanding of technical complexity to make the most impactful priority for cost versus benefit.
You are able to distill complex information into easy-to-understand concepts and understand how to manage the team through ambiguity.
You are an excellent communicator, skilled at communicating with multiple stakeholders.
You learn from your work and experiences.
You are driven to get stuff done, but with a collaborative approach. You understand that we don’t win unless the team wins, and you leave ego out of it.
You know what makes a great user experience and love partnering with design, insights, and engineering to turn a vision into reality.
You engage with User Research, Consumer Insights, Customer support or Analytics to derive value from existing studies and articulate needs for new studies.
You have experience analyzing data and insights to understand and measure your work.
You can define success metrics for feature iteration and communicate your rationale clearly.
Bonus skills: Hardware, Voice UX, and Automotive experience.
