Marketing Lead Sub-Saharan Africa

As the Head of Marketing, you will lead the expansion of Spotify’s role as one of Africa’s leading culture brands by developing regional marketing strategies and adapting global ideas in relevant ways. In this position, you will work closely with the leadership and report to the Managing Director for Sub-Saharan Africa. This position is based preferably South Africa, with the option to work from a Spotify office or remotely. 

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Deepen brand love for Spotify and drive user growth in African markets via best-in class marketing initiatives!
  • Defend and expand Spotify’s role as one of Africa’s leading culture brands
  • Develop regional and local marketing strategies rooted in data and insights about the Spotify brand, our product, and our consumers
  • Write marketing briefs that articulate the strategy and provide clear direction to large and diverse cross-functional teams as well as external partners & agencies
  • Partner closely with Spotify’s internal creative team to implement global ideas in regionally relevant ways
  • Serve as a strategic resource for cross-functional teams in the region (e.g. Growth, Content, Comms).

    Who You Are

     

  • You bring at least 7-10+ years’ experience in Consumer Marketing, Brand Marketing, or Marketing Strategy
  • You can operate in highly complex and fast paced work environments!
  • You are capable of moving seamlessly between analytical, strategic, creative, and operational conversations
  • You have experience using data to develop strategic decisions
  • You have the ability to mobilize and lead large cross-functional teams
  • You are experienced in briefing and working with creative teams
  • You are highly organized and detail conscious with the ability to handle timelines, cross-functional teams, and regional budgets
  • You have excellent communication and people skills
  • You have international experience, understanding of cultural diversity & trends, and deep knowledge of Sub Saharan African markets
  • You have been successful in bringing global brands into the SSA markets
  • You have led and developed teams
