We are looking for an outstanding Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our Central FP&A team in New York. The Manager will build out processes for core Central FP&A responsibilities and be a driver of the evolution of the Central FP&A team’s role within the business. The Central FP&A team is tasked with driving and coordinating financial information and improvements across all of FP&A directly and indirectly across all of Spotify. The team acts as the main business partner to the Spotify CFO and VP FP&A, providing the consolidated financial view for the company, collaborating and coordinating across business finance, licensing finance, and strategic planning teams in FP&A.
The candidate will have in-depth understanding of key financial and operational practices across a range of finance functions with an eye towards building and establishing FP&A processes to support the Central FP&A team’s day-to-day responsibilities. The candidate should have a strong understanding of FP&A procedures and standards, coupled with the ability to build repeatable processes from scratch. This role will report into the Director of Central FP&A and provide broad exposure to Spotify wide FP&A opportunities and challenges across multiple lines of business. The Manager will have oversight of an Analyst.
What You’ll Do:
Develop processes to provide consolidated analysis and reporting to the Spotify CFO and VP FP&A, working closely with various FP&A teams.
Optimize and standardize processes for FP&A wide reporting, including thorough coordination of automation opportunities.
Aid the consolidation process to help Central FP&A synthesize and communicate the financial narrative in concise executive and Board materials.
Drive cross-FP&A process improvements and change management, including crafting, sharing and rolling out standard methodologies in forecasting, reporting and closing processes.
Support the build out of new business case and investment decision framework and processes across the enterprise, including guidelines, tools and processes.
Support the overall FP&A quarterly forecasting process and calendar, improve the intra-quarter outlook process, and participate in the annual planning/budgeting process.
Manage and develop a New York based team member.
Partner with stakeholders at multiple levels and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Corporate Development/M&A, Accounting, Treasury, Financial Engineering, HR and other central teams, to define and deliver solutions.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related field.
7+ years of relevant finance experience.
Prior FP&A Experience, preferably in a global or large media, tech or entertainment company, with a successful track record of working with teams and stakeholders that span multiple geographies globally.
In-depth understanding of core FP&A activities, including reporting, budgeting/forecasting, financial analysis and modeling
Proven track record of advanced analytical skills and ability to work effectively with limited guidance.
Prior experience with SQL/BigQuery and BI/data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau).
Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills with a deep understanding of model architecture, formula efficiency, pivot tables, and macros.
Experience working in a highly collaboratively matrixed environment and leading through influence to achieve goals.
Analytical and strategic approach with the ability to problem solve through ambiguity.
Excellent project management skills.
