We’re looking for an Audiobooks Marketing Lead to join Spotify’s Talk & New Formats Marketing team—a proven team leader and seasoned marketing professional with a track record of driving full funnel strategy in pursuit of audience building and engagement for the new audiobooks business. The ideal candidate will have strategic skill and creative vision to drive our business forward.
What you’ll do
Collaborate with business leads to set strategy and budgets recommendations on a quarterly basis and plan resourcing for campaigns and initiatives supporting Audiobooks
Manage a team of cross-functional collaborators to drive end-to-end strategy and execution of Audiobooks content campaigns
Lead all aspects of Marketing Manager(s) in key projects and career development providing by coaching, feedback, and supporting in achievement of mutually agreed-upon goals
In partnership with the Head of Talk Marketing, initiate and support overarching Audiobooks Business plan development, financial forecasting, the team’s Quarterly Business Reviews, resource prioritization, and quarterly budget allocation
Act as the strategic leader and voice for Content and Format partners across the business to address cross-functional needs, encourage consensus from teams, and ensure integration across relevant marketing initiatives
Build connections with Regional Marketing teams across Spotify to incorporate findings, strategies, and find opportunities to work together to scale Audiobooks projects and launches when possible
Influence cross-functionally and work effectively with our Content team, Media, Social Media, On-Platform Marketing, PR, Editorial, Brand and Creative partners
Provide creative strategy and direction working with our internal Creative team to develop elite marketing campaigns for content launches
Represent Spotify marketing in external partner conversations related to marketing campaigns and relay strategy to garner agreement for all marketing plans
Establish relationships with Audiobooks partners and Content Creators externally to help deliver on a shared Marketing vision for our high-profile launches
Work with our analytics and insights teams to build comprehensive measurement and performance projection plans, and build performance reports that craft future strategy
Who you are
10+ years marketing experience at a streaming network, digital or book publisher, or audio company, ideally in roles that were content- or platform-focused
5+ years of leading teams directly and motivating them in their development
Passionate about the evolution of audio and enjoy consuming podcasts, audiobooks or other spoken word content
Thrive in a dynamic and high energy environment and bring an entrepreneurial mentality to new projects, providing teams with direction and making decisions despite ambiguity
Comfortable working with performance dashboards and can derive action plans for your team leveraging data insights
Experienced in running through-the-line campaigns from awareness media to social to performance
Motivated by taking ambiguous and novel initiatives and driving strategy to deliver on business objectives
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in building presentations
Self-starter that pride in delivering outstanding work
