Our Partnerships team plays a critical role in driving Spotify’s strategy around differentiating Spotify’s podcast offering, engaging with and retaining audio creators on platform through strategic initiatives as well partnering with key media publishers and brands. Spotify has partnered with some of the most beloved podcast creators in the world – including shows like ArmChair Expert with Dax Shepard, Call Her Daddy, Unlocking Us with Brene Brown and many more. This is a Leadership role that offers the opportunity to set the vision and strategy, working across priority projects, creators and publishers. 

The right candidate is passionate about the future of the creator economy, highly organized, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong leadership skills, and is able to work with many different types of stakeholders and creators.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Lead our Exclusive Podcast strategy
  • Oversee our publisher and brand content partnerships strategy 
  • Develop scalable processes to manage multiple partnerships simultaneously while prioritizing those that will have the greatest impact on Spotify
  • Manage relationships with the largest talent agencies, production companies, podcast networks, broadcasters and talent in the podcasting industry.
  • Set targets for our partnerships and retain ultimate responsibility for delivering against them
  • Provide leadership to global Partnership team members, including sharing of negotiation best practices, suggesting creative solutions to difficult problems, and offering guidance on how to consider deal specific trade-offs.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the podcast creator landscape from the largest studios to the creators just about to break out
  • Partner closely with leaders in content, product, marketing, PR, operations, strategy & research and finance to ensure seamless cross-functional coordination. 
  • Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Spotify strategic priorities and expansion opportunities
  • Serve as the internal advocate for partners across all Spotify Teams
  • Be the voice of our creator community to the business and other cross-functional teams, advocating for the needs of our creators internally; driving alignment across product and business teams for the purpose of unifying our vision and goals for key creator audiences in local markets. 
  • Understand and evangelize for the needs of Spotify creators, actively identifying gaps and opportunities to better serve local audiences, across the entire creator lifecycle

    Who you are

     

  • 15+ years relevant partnerships experience in the Digital Entertainment, media or audio, ideally with a focus on creators
  • 5+ years experience managing large teams
  • Excellent communication and organization skills to draw alignment with regional and cross-functional teams, as well as senior leadership
  • Experience conceptualizing, planning and launching initiatives
  • Experience leading and mentoring a diverse team 
  • Comfortable working in an experimental and extremely fast-paced environment within a complex, matrixed organization
  • Charismatic, compelling speaker and strong oral & written communication skills for internal and external forums
