Global Account Lead, London

  • Full Time

Sell what you love. For us and millions of users across the globe, that’s Spotify. Join the Sales team and you’ll build the relationships that help grow our business in existing markets and beyond. We don’t just sell creative solutions to our clients and partners, we help to shape them; using our expert knowledge of ad products, sales channels and the industry to impact the way the world experiences music and podcasts.

Define how Spotify Advertising creates real value for global advertisers, set and execute the overall account strategy and enable local sales teams to reach their full potential. This role is part of the Category Development Team within Spotify’s Advertising Business Unit, our fast growing business unit focussed on platform monetization through brand partnerships.

We are looking for a London based Global Account Lead to oversee the strategy and growth of a set of global strategic partnerships (advertisers) that have a ‘joint business plan’ (JBP) with Spotify and operate through local and central teams. You will imagine, grow and implement joint business plans, scaled initiatives, and ‘Spotify-firsts’, that drive results for our advertising business and beyond. You will work alongside local- and international sales- and agency teams to overlay a global strategy and revenue focus and manage non-local and complex client briefs and relationships.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee the symphony of C-level and mid-level Spotify, advertiser, and agency partnership stakeholders for your global accounts.
  • Galvanize the global teams within Spotify, client and agency through well thought-out engagement-, communication- and stakeholder- engagement plan.
  • Own the development and implementation of the JBP priorities for your accounts, in collaboration with Category Development, Trading, Sales, Agency Lead and various other cross-functional partners.
  • Strategically advising local market sales- and leadership teams and cross-functional partners on advertiser needs to open new paths for revenue growth; identify gaps, opportunities and share successes.
  • Identify new markets and new opportunities for revenue growth across the accounts.
  • Build an action plan to drive this revenue growth in partnership with our local market Sales teams across the world.
  • Lead our internal Spotify community of cross-functional partners supporting these advertisers so we can enhance our efforts for complex global projects across the Spotify ecosystem.
  • Own internal and external global partnership communications, including cross-market updates, toolkits, partnership playbooks and reporting.
  • Project-manage the execution of scalable programs including education programs, data/insights workstreams, tool management, briefs and RFP’s and other cross-Spotify innovation-driven programs across the named JBP accounts.
  • Help shape and inform future partnership development, innovation program initiatives, tracking and engagement plans, as we continually grow and develop our team.

    Who you are

  • 10+ years of global digital advertising sales experience within Fortune 100 companies.
  • Extensive network within ‘FMCG/CPG’, Technology & Telecom and/or Media/Entertainment.
  • Experiences in growing revenue, scaling and repeating standard processes and dealing with multiple partners at the same time.
  • Strategic operator with a service mentality, not frazzled by multiple processes, partners and deadlines.
  • Excited about helping others drive success; mentoring and coaching sales professionals globally.
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness, which encourages positive energy and passion throughout the organization and with our external partners.
  • Strong executive presence, confidently engaging key decision makers and C-level and mid-level executives, inside and outside of Spotify.
  • Comfortable with working through ambiguity, with an expert ability to navigate sophisticated, matrixed organizations, demonstrating their ability to influence others and build trust.
  • Passion for developing and delivering high-impact presentations and leading education programs for large audiences.
  • Strong understanding of Spotify user behaviour, product and targeting suite & the ability to translate technical or complicated ideas into ordinary and simple terms.
  • Ability to travel internationally and work flexibility to accommodate a reasonable amount of meetings in other timezones.

    Where you’ll be

  • You will work from our office in London and report into the Global Head of Category Development, based in Los Angeles.
