We are seeking to recruit an exceptional candidate to join our corporate legal team in New York.
As Legal Counsel and part of Spotify’s corporate legal team, you will counsel and provide legal support to our in-house business teams on a variety of corporate law and finance matters. Your work will be focused on domestic and global projects, including mergers and acquisitions (including business integration), corporate governance and contract negotiation. It will require cross-functional work and a deep understanding of global corporate governance, compliance and M&A.

 

What you´ll do

 

  • You will work with, support and advise our in-house business teams on domestic and global corporate activities and projects, including and involving equity, debt, mergers and acquisitions, post-closing integration and other similar matters.
  • You will support our tax team on global tax related matters.
  • You will support various teams on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a range of agreements, including global service agreements, finance related agreements and intercompany agreements.
  • You will advise and support the company on corporate law matters, registrations and filings, including corporate restructurings and reorganization. 
  • You will ensure, identify and tackle the challenges in the global corporate governance law space, including supporting global compliance efforts.
  • You will assist with other general corporate matters, including drafting resolutions, organizational documents, policies, and other company materials.

    Who you are

     

  • Law degree required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years corporate legal experience (a minimum of 3 years law firm experience required; in-house experience at a global public company strongly recommended).
  • The ability to build, keep and maintain good communications and relations internally and externally.
  • A team player.
  • Experience in project management. 
  • A self-starter with an excellent compliance skillset.
  • Experience in the music, tech or media sector.
  • The ability to adapt quickly. The industry is changing fast and it is critical to be able to adapt to new market conditions and circumstances.
  • Well-organized, with attention to detail, with  the ability to plan and deliver on tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English.

  • You will work out of the New York Office.
  • Our offices are currently closed due to COVID-19. 
  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern time zone for collaboration.
