We are looking for a marketing professional to support the execution of Spotify Advertising’s B2B marketing strategy in Japan. This position is full time, based in Tokyo, and will report into the Enterprise Marketing Manager, Japan.

As the Associate Enterprise Marketing Manager for Japan, you will be responsible for marketing programs that build awareness, educate and inspire Japanese media agencies and towards booking ad campaigns on Spotify. The role incorporates all aspects of B2B enterprise marketing including digital, social and experiential extensions. Working closely with sales stakeholders in the region and with other Enterprise Marketing team members globally, you will own the development, communication, and execution of the local B2B marketing strategy in efficient and scalable ways.

We are looking for an energetic, creative marketer, with a background in B2B marketing, and experience in the Japanese media & advertising industry. The candidate must be resourceful, organized and able to take ownership and develop well-defined processes to enable effective campaign rollouts.

The role also requires native Japanese language, with familiarity localising and translating English materials. Experience working in global organisations will be highly regarded. 

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Identify in-market challenges and make recommendations to drive education and inspiration around the Spotify Advertising offering within Japan’s largest media and advertising agencies.
  • Adapt, localise and translate key sales collateral for the Japanese sales team, including the development of new sales collateral and content pieces. This will involve ensuring narratives are consistent with the global Spotify Advertising story but culturally relevant to Japan through local data and insights.
  • Assist in maintaining the market’s digital channels including paid media, website (ads.spotify.com) and bi-monthly newsletter. This will also require writing and developing local success stories / case studies.
  • Coordination of virtual or in-person events, and managing day to day communications with local events partners / agencies.
  • Understanding of digital marketing campaigns, and how to partner with local agencies to deliver them.
  • Identify key local industry events and trade organizations in Japan to partner with and increase Spotify’s industry presence through sponsorship, speakerships, activations and attendance
  • Reporting and measurement of marketing activities, and marketing budget.

    Who You Are

     

  • You have a min 8 – 12+ years of experience in the Japanese media environment, ideally in a similar B2B marketing role at a publisher or platform, but experience requiring similar skills will also be considered.
  • You have business level fluency in English and are native in Japanese
  • You have a strong understanding of the Japanese advertising and media landscape.
  • You are comfortable translating and localising global marketing material in English for a local Japanese audience.
  • You have experience working cross-functionally with different departments, both locally and internationally.
  • You have exceptional project management skills, highly organised, focused multi-tasker with strong attention to detail.
  • You have the ability to adhere to a budget as well as negotiate vendor rates
  • You have experience using Keynote and Google Slides to craft sales materials
