About the role:

As an Operations Analyst for the Sales Engineering Team at Samsara, you’d be part of a diverse group of technically minded folks working together to bring our unique connected operations technology to customers. Our Global SE Team works with prospects and customers on solutions for logistics/supply chain management, fleet maintenance strategies, global asset management, machine control systems/diagnostics, system integration, and regulatory compliance. An SE Ops Analyst at Samsara would be passionate about looking at how Samsara’s SE Team engages with our prospects today (across various product lines and sales segments), then building software solutions to help measure and improve the results of those engagements.

In this role, you will: 

  • Scale an industry leading Sales Engineering team by enabling great presale engagements with prospective Samsara customers
  • Manage the Sales Engineering tech stack, adding automation, and selecting/integrating/maintaining specialized tooling
  • Work with cross functional peers to integrate existing internal systems
  • Analyze the technical presales processes to improve prospect engagement and maximize win rate
  • Manage data and automate reporting on all key Sales Engineering metrics such as win rates, proof of concept efficiency, product adoption, upsell/cross-sell success, prospect feedback, product feature request processing, etc.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Obsess Over the Customer, Build for the Long Term, Growth Mindset) as we scale globally and across new offices    

Minimum requirements for this role:

  • A passion for new technologies, especially as they apply to the Industrial IoT space
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years in one or more of the following areas:  Business Systems Management, Product Operations Management, Program Management, Voice of the Customer
  • A firm understanding of business process automation, and experience delivering integrated software solutions to internal stakeholders
  • Exposure to working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity

An ideal candidate also has:

  • MS/MBA
  • The ability to code in a modern language such as Java, Javascript, or Python
  • Experience with integration standards and transports including SFTP, Soap/Rest APIs, AS2, XML, XSD, JSON and EDI
  • The ability to deliver complex B2B systems integration projects and workflows
  • Experience with data integrity, data quality, data migration and data maintenance
  • Experience using and integrating software tools such as Databricks, Mixpanel, Jira,, Slack, and Tableau
