About the role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, entrepreneurial Product Manager who wants to take a product from 0 to 1. This role is fast paced and highly cross-functional. One day you may be wearing a hard hat visiting a customer at a construction site, and the other you may be problem solving how to best design a certain flow.

This is a new initiative and we’re looking for our first product manager reporting directly to the General Manager.

In this role, you will: 

  • Gather customer and stakeholder feedback to establish a roadmap and a long-term strategy
  • Launch a new product in collaboration with Design, Engineering, and Marketing
  • Be highly involved in deals, partnering closely with sales
  • Obsess over the end-to-end customer journey to create experiences that delight our customers
  • Be responsible for customer satisfaction, product usage and business outcomes
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • At least ten years of job experience, in relevant product, technical or business roles
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to customers and internal audiences
  • Strong technical understanding, ability to grasp technical concepts and establish credibility with engineers
  • Bias-to-action and hands-on experience delivering business results. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty writing a spec or jumping on a customer call, but can also mentor others to do the same

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field
  • Familiarity with B2B products and working with B2B sales teams
  • Entrepreneurial experience

 

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver total compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock units (RSUs). RSUs are awarded at hire and may be refreshed annually. Additionally, as a pay-for-performance company, there are additional RSU grant awards for top performers which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.
The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$141,760$221,500 USD

We value in-person collaboration and know a change of scenery and quiet space to work is welcomed from time to time, but also appreciate that the world of work has changed.
