About the role:

The Senior Finance Systems Analyst will partner with the Finance and Planning organizations at Samsara to build world-class financial forecasting, planning, reporting and analysis capabilities. The person in this role will own the management, configuration/development, and operations support of systems such as Adaptive Insights. The candidate is accountable for full lifecycle development that entails the analysis, design and development of tool capabilities in addition to proactively identifying enhancement opportunities to the systems. Understand, interpret and transform business problems, opportunities and requirements while recommending solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

In this role, you will: 

  • Develop, build, deliver and maintain innovative and collaborative planning models on the Adaptive platform to support/automate existing processes, new goals and initiatives across all facets and functions of the business
  • Partner with FP&A and cross-functional teams (GTM, Supply Chain and COGS) to develop roadmaps, identify needs, understand existing models (excel/ Adaptive), and translate them into efficiently built and enhanced Adaptive or other technology solutions
  • Continuously identify gaps and opportunities for automation projects that will streamline workflows and processes
  • Partner with business leaders to support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and analysis, driving efficiency improvements and cost savings
  • Perform complex business and systems analysis work, deep root cause analysis and provide forward thinking, long term technical solutions; conduct requirements gathering/analysis
  • Oversee data flows and development of integrations between our internal systems (Netsuite, SFDC, Workday) to Adaptive to ensure data is timely and accurate
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations, providing recommendations to senior management and executives
  • Formalize best practices in model building, document processes and provide coaching/training to end users
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information System, Finance/Accounting or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of knowledge and related industry experience implementing and maintaining financial systems with experience working in a SaaS environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter that thrives in a fast paced environment, customer focused and collaborative with stakeholders on various teams
  • Proven experience in developing on platforms like Anaplan, Adaptive, Oracle, Netsuite including business rules/coding, model building, and development of reports and dashboards
  • Good understanding of full-cycle implementation of financial system and application support process
  • Strong understand of financial planning processes and models
