The team you are joining focuses on SaaS application protection, such as Office 365, Salesforce, etc. As the industry moves more towards SaaS applications in the cloud, data protection (backup and recovery) for these SaaS applications becomes a critical need for our customers.
You’ll work on problems at scale i.e. how to efficiently provide data protections for millions of users’ emails or documents. You’ll be part of the team that drives the next generation of SaaS protection and drives the company’s next growth engine.
ABOUT THE JOB
You will design, build, and maintain Rubrik’s cloud data protection services. You’ll help solve problems such as:
- How do you backup SaaS Applications efficiently at scale?
- How do you optimize cloud computing/storage so that the cost remains low at scale?

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. We believe in giving engineers responsibility, not tasks. Our goal is to motivate and challenge people to do their best work. To do that, we provide a great balance with flexibility to work on new projects while owning core areas to build expertise. This develops more capable engineers, and keeps everyone engaged and happy. To address challenges of huge year over year growth in terms of numbers of customers as well as the amount of data we protect, our team is constantly re-imagining our product. This is an exciting time to join as we are constantly improving and innovating on each of our core services.
Some recent projects include:
- A cloud agnostic ransomware detection and protection solution for cloud virtual machines.
- A new data path with de-dupe and compression capabilities to take transactionally consistent backups for Azure PaaS workloads.
- A new API gateway built from scratch for enabling programmatic workflows with native support for authorization and authentication.
- Building a petabyte scale cloud-provider agnostic solution to archive snapshots.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 7+ years of Strong experience in data structures, algorithms, software design, and systems analysis
- Experience in developing and debugging distributed systems
- Experience building large-scale distributed systems or working with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experiences in performance optimization, working with SaaS applications like O365, Salesforce is a big plus
- Experiences in Golang is a plus
