Senior Analyst, Tax Compliance and Reporting

Okta is searching for a Senior Analyst, Tax Compliance and Reporting to join Okta’s Global Tax Compliance and Reporting Team. The ideal candidate is a process-oriented team builder with technical knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes and fundamental income tax concepts. This role will report to the Manager, Global Tax Reporting and Compliance.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation process for the company’s quarterly and annual income tax accrual under ASC 740 with the assistance of our external tax advisors
  • Assist with income tax related disclosures in our 10K, 10Q, and non-GAAP reporting
  • Assist in managing the relationship with our external auditors 
  • Review or prepare tax workpapers
  • Assist in efforts to automate and streamline our tax reporting and compliance processes
  • Assist in the federal, state, and international income tax return compliance process
  • Assist in tax modeling and other special projects 
  • Support diligence and tax accounting related to acquisitions and other corporate reorganizations
  • Assist in resolving tax controversy matters

Minimum required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Minimum 3+ years of combined public accounting and/or industry experience
  • Experience with public companies in the SaaS industry preferable
  • CPA license or equivalent experience required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting
  • Master’s of taxation preferred 
  • Strong understanding of accounting for income taxes under ASC 740, including experience with tax rate forecasting/modeling, maintaining inventory of deferreds, valuation allowance analysis, FIN 48, and tax footnote disclosures.
  • Excellent understanding of federal, state, and international income tax concepts 
  • Tax provision and compliance software experience preferred
  • Proficient with Google workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
