The Brand, Content & Creative team at Okta is a growing group within Marketing, composed of creatives, strategists, producers and marketing managers alike. Our team’s focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories and inspire creative excellence. 

As a partner to cross-functional teams across all of Okta, we tie our goals to our most important company initiatives, driving towards shared KPIs, strategies and processes to unify and push the brand and business forward.

The Brand team within BCC is in charge of developing the brand strategy, verbal identity (voice & naming), creative strategy, brand management and brand measurement. We advocate for the power of brand across Okta while helping support marketing activities. 

About this role

We are looking for a Brand Manager to join our team and partner with our Brand Directors on the buildout and brand management programs and processes. In this role, you will work with brand strategists and key Marketing leaders to unlock opportunities for the brand, deliver on strategy, and guide the execution to bring them to life. You will help to establish and manage cross-functional relationships to identify the different outputs of the brand across the company, partnering with these teams to ensure that work is on brand and on strategy. You will help lead cross-functional brand projects and help guide how the brand is leveraged for maximum impact, giving you the opportunity to problem solve and think creatively while also delivering on the output.

What you will do

  • Act as the central Brand lead on priority brand initiatives and brand management functions.
  • Partner with Marketing stakeholders on the development of annual roadmaps for brand management, and determine where / how Brand team resources will support priorities identified in the roadmaps.
  • Ensure all work being developed is helping to build a unified and consistent Okta brand.
  • Manage all Brand Team communications: Own all brand comms channels and comms roadmaps, host brand office hours and build out / deliver on global brand announcements.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Program Manager to oversee and actively manage the delivery of Brand team projects and programs on time and on budget — from strategy to execution, as directed by the VP of Brand.
  • Interface and guide cross-functional teams and disciplines involved in a Brand program / project, including creative, strategy, production, media and more.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand brand needs and liaise with the Brand Creative team and PM to inform future brand assets, guidelines and projects.

  • Partner with Legal, Project Management, Product Marketing, Events, and Campaigns on how to approach brand reviews through creative processes, guidelines and other documentation.
  • Partner with M&A teams on brand acquisition plans and guidelines.

What experience you have

  • 8+ working as a Brand Manager (or comparable experience) in B2B or tech
  • Proven experience building and delivering on integrated brand programs and managing brand tools, processes and assets
  • Proven ability to think strategically while delivering against project briefs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proven experience working with executives and with cross-functional teams
