About the Accounting Manager Headspace:
Headspace is looking for an Accounting Manager to help lead our Accounting team in a high growth environment. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will be responsible for improving financial close processes, systems implementations, and improving company wide procedures. You should be able to collaborate with cross functional teams, provide technical accounting guidance for decision making, as well as assist with end-to-end operational processes. The successful candidate will be a highly driven, team-focused individual that can work well with internal and external partners at all levels.
Location: This role is open to remote employees in select US states: California and Washington.

Support the company’s end-to-end reporting process for generating high quality financial statements and internal reports
Assist in configuring, optimizing, and administering accounting software
Stay current on changes to Accounting Standards Codifications (ASC) and SEC regulations and evaluate and communicate impact on company’s financial reporting
Work cross functionally with key stakeholders across the organization to properly account for transactions and improve business processes
Analyze accounting issues and prepare memorandums based on research and analysis of authoritative and interpretative guidance
Provide advisory support to finance as well as our business partners on new initiatives and complex transactions
Assist in the preparation and review of audited financial statements
Lead the team in day-to-day accounting and month-end close activities
Assist in preparing and performing monthly variance analysis
Assist in implementing a strong internal control environment
Coordinate with external auditors to support their annual audit procedures
Assist in review and approval of vendor bills and journal entries
Responsible for managing offshore accounting team
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
6+ years of relevant accounting or audit experience
2+ years of public company experience
Analytical experience, including experience in Excel
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change
Meticulous and superior attention to detail
Experience in optimizing business processes
Experience with NetSuite, Floqast, and Tipalti
Multi-entity and multi-subsidiary
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
