About the Role 

HashiCorp is looking for an experienced VP of Product Management who is excited about building the next generation of infrastructure software. The HashiCorp Cloud Platform (HCP) sits at the center of HashiCorp’s cloud product offerings. It is the central interface that customers interact with and provides shared services to all of our cloud products.

As the VP of Product Management for the HashiCorp Cloud Platform, you will drive the product strategy for the customer facing and internal interfaces of our cloud platform. This includes our customer identity service, billing engine, core platform services, internal infrastructure platform, product analytics platform, developer productivity tooling, release tooling, and SRE. Your goal is to maximize the leverage that the company realizes from the Cloud Platform by owning a strategy and vision and orienting the product team around that. The responsibilities include driving customer adoption and unlocking our overall cloud product strategy by enabling velocity through high quality shared services. 

Excellent story-telling, communication and team-building skills are required to collaborate effectively with organizational leaders in other functions and lead the team. You will manage other product leaders and product managers towards a common vision and mentor them to do their best work — market and user research, requirements definition, and roadmap creation. You will work closely with marketing, design and engineering colleagues as well as cloud product leaders across the company.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Build, invest and curate services in the HCP product portfolio.
  • Hire, lead and manage the product management teams in the portfolio.
  • Work with your team and technical leadership to craft a long term vision for flexible shared services and platform primitives that can be combined to build future cloud products
  • Lead market analysis, research and decision-making on new platform and cloud product capabilities.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to assess their needs, understand their roadmaps, and plan how to provide the maximum leverage for them
  • Craft the platform story by understanding the landscape, user needs, and HashiCorp principles.
  • Engage with key customers, stakeholders, and community members to drive roadmaps.
  • Review and approve the roadmaps submitted by product managers.
  • Mentor product managers and give feedback on their work — user research, Problem Requirement Documents (PRDs), field engagement, roadmaps.
  • Partner with the marketing, design and engineering teams to deliver on the roadmap.
  • Communicate product status to all partners. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests.
  • Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc).

You may be a good fit if you have:

  • Experience leading product portfolios with $100m+ annual revenue
  • 5+ years of product management experience with platform and developer focused products 
  • 5+ years in an executive role leading teams of product managers
  • Strong user and market research skills
  • Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
  • Strong technical acumen, with a solid understanding of the cloud market
  • Experience with SaaS products
  • Experience with deep product design collaboration

HashiCorp is committed to Pay Transparency. The base salary range for this role is $285,000 – $295,000.  This role is also eligible for a 30% annual bonus. Information on our benefits can be found below.
