Technical Product Marketing Manager, Application Product Line

HashiCorp is seeking a Technical Product Marketing Manager to create technical content to help with our HashiCorp go-to-market strategy and activities. This role will be a key part of the Application focused Product Marketing team and will build technical content for HashiCorp products, including Nomad, Waypoint, and Vagrant. Nomad is a simple and flexible orchestrator to deploy and manage containers and non-containerized applications across on-premises and cloud environments at scale. Waypoint is an application deployment tool that aims to deliver a PaaS-like experience for Kubernetes, ECS, and other platforms. Vagrant is used to build and manage virtual machine environments in a single workflow, often for development environments. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience using HashiCorp products and creating technical content, including demos, tutorials, competitive battlecards, presentations, technical white papers, and more.  

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Content creation— use your domain knowledge, technical expertise, and understanding to create content to help customers learn what problems Nomad, Waypoint, and Vagrant solve and how they can help them. Content should be easily consumable, simple, accurate, and polished, as it will be featured on our web properties, sales process, and events to help educate our prospective customers.
  • Cross-team collaboration— this role will work with the engineering, product, and sales engineering (SE) team to deliver slide decks, tutorials, demos, videos, and technical white papers aligned with our go-to-market initiatives. 
  • Content evangelism— this role will educate field-facing teams on the availability and usability of the available content; keeping content up-to-date and consistently discoverable is an essential part of the role. 
  • Sales enablement— this role will showcase content during sales enablement training sessions and work closely with sales teams to gather feedback, build a plan to enhance existing content, and develop what’s missing when needed. 
  • Product launch content— work with the marketing organization to deliver technical content updates that align with the announcement of product releases. 
  • Technical partnerships & ecosystem— establish an understanding of the partner ecosystem and the architecture of how these partners and other DevOps tools incorporate that into Nomad, Waypoint, or Vagrant product content.
  • Market intelligence— establish an understanding of key competitors in the ecosystem and incorporate differentiated value into the technical content. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • BS in CS/CE or equivalent technical degree preferred
  • Technical product marketing experience, or at least three years experience in a technical field-facing role, related to application delivery, cloud, infrastructure, networking, or IT operations.
  • Industry / technology expertise required in one or more of the following areas: application delivery, cloud, distributed systems, dynamic IT infrastructure, private cloud, Kubernetes, and DevOps workflows.
  • Ability to write strong, effective technical content (white papers, technical briefs, test reports, etc.) for external audiences with a balance of technical accuracy, strategy, and clear messaging.
  • Ability to work in Keynote, PowerPoint, Google Slides, necessary demo software, and design tools such as Adobe Illustrator. 
  • Ability to comfortably present and demo our products in front of internal and external audiences (large and small, live and recorded)
  • Some travel required
  • Deep customer focus and understanding are needed to build materials that resonate with customers.
  • Strong ability to take an idea or project and develop a plan to execute
  • Excellent communicator
