Public Relations Manager


About the role:

We are looking for an outstanding communicator to help us expand our Corporate Communications function! You know the strategies and approaches to help HashiCorp build on its strong technical and open source community reputation to become known as the key player in enabling multi-cloud software infrastructure for large enterprises. You will drive and execute our communications strategy, run public relations, analyst relations, and be a key part of our internal editorial calendar process. You may also contribute to our social media presence and work collaboratively with our customer reference program. The goal is to extend the company’s public profile with our IT practitioner audience as well as build a positive reputation with the decision-makers of Global 2000 organizations.

In this role, you can expect to:

Help to craft our critical communication goals to increase corporate and product visibility in the U.S. and internationally
Handle public relations efforts for our core products, including news-focused communications, as well as responding to industry events and identifying timely opportunities to drive our product narratives
Act as a partner to our external PR agencies across the US, EMEA, and APJ to support our communications goals
Support and expand our analyst relations program, especially focused on our core products. This includes everything from leading briefings to ensuring our sales team is aware of research that would help them with customers and prospects
Orchestrate the needed internal components, buy-in, and specialists to ensure successful roll-out of product and company information in the most effective way
Own communications plans to support product launches and help to define and drive their execution

You may be a good fit if you have:

3-5 years of public relations and analyst relations experience
Relationships (or you’re comfortable building them) with key journalists, bloggers, influencers, and analysts in HashiCorp’s market
A finger on the pulse of the current media environment, how the business realities are affecting available channels, and how HashiCorp might best approach them
Excellence at product and company announcement orchestration and smooth, effective logistics in compressed timeframes, and amid multiple competing priorities
Excellent writing skills for multiple communications approaches to convey the company’s point of view and make the content digestible by your targets
An understanding of and experience with open source business models and the marketing and communication nuances related to those
Strong skills at understanding your target audiences and translating the corporate storyline into an appealing and compelling narrative in all communication channels
Experience working with Product Marketing to craft compelling messaging for press and analysts to help guide and tune our messages for maximum impact
Experience working with external PR agencies and analyst firms
Ability to collaborate with industry analysts (and their organizations) in both paid and non-paid capacities to ensure we are well positioned in research and our products and use cases are understood and represented accurately
