Who is Gusto?

Gusto is a modern, online people platform that helps small businesses take care of their teams. On top of full-service payroll, Gusto offers health insurance, 401(k)s, expert HR, and team management tools. Today, Gusto offices in Denver, San Francisco, and New York serve more than 200,000 businesses nationwide.

Our mission is to create a world where work empowers a better life, and it starts right here at Gusto. That’s why we’re committed to building a collaborative and inclusive workplace, both physically and virtually.

Gusto’s People team is growing and scaling with the company!  As our business scales and becomes more complex, and as we add hundreds of new Gusties each year, we need to ensure that our strategies for engagement with our employees are positive, engaging, values-driven, and compliant.

What is the People Rotation Program?

The People Team Rotational Program provides entry-level professionals with valuable exposure and the opportunity to engage in rewarding rotations across several of our core People functions. Throughout this 24-month program, participants will gain hands-on experience in a hyper-growth environment, take part in robust professional development activities, and receive mentorship directly from People Team Leadership. The program is designed to equip participants with a strong foundation on which to build successful careers in the People space. At the end of the program, rotation Gusties will work with their Rotation Program Manager to consider potential career paths and determine final placements within the People Team.

Each participant will complete 3, 8-month rotations through various parts of Gusto’s People Team. As part of the 24 month program, the participants will go through a Learn-Connect-Experience model to learn key functional and leadership skills.  Think of the Learn-Connect-Experience model as follows:

  • 70% of the development through the program comes from Experience– the on-the-job work the Gustie does as part of their 8 month rotations.
  • 20% of the development through the program comes from more formal Learning– workshops, talks, conferences and/or classroom-based learning
  • 10% of the development through the program comes from Connection– building a Gusto community amongst the cohort, with People leaders, and leaders across Gusto, as well as participating in a sponsor-sponsee relationship during the duration of the program.

Specific rotation details will be provided to participants upon selection. Examples of teams that may host rotation members include: Environment, Employee Engagement, Internal Comms, Recruiting, People Consultants, People Operations etc.

Here’s what we're looking for:
