Partner Solutions Architects (Alliance partnerships) are influential technical representatives from GitLab to its Alliance and Technology partners

Alliance Partner Solution Architects work across GitLab’s partner ecosystem, build reference implementations on partner technology, help with joint offerings, enablement and field marketing, both internal and external. They are recognized as a trusted advisor within an area of focus. This expertise involves entire technical ecosystems and technical cultural attributes of partner organizations.

Alliance Partner Solution Architects proactively identify market demand with solutioning. They engage as lead SME including pitches, solution envisioning, proposal development and estimate preparation as related to a Partner. They communicate, grow and evolve awareness of applicable Partner technology, services, success stories, market trends and best practices. They generate ideas for and participate in Alliances group strategy formulation for both business and technical considerations.

Alliance Partner Solution Architects tighten feedback loops from the field to R&D, Marketing, and Customer Success at GitLab. They proactively break down silos to envision and co-create products with cross-team, cross-company communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and evangelize GitLab's vision, strategy, and values to your team while also translating them for application to team-specific scenarios.
  • Develop strategies and operations to improve GitLab partner practices and solutions as they pertain to delivering GitLab-based solutions for our customers.
  • Grow a highly effective team through hiring, coaching, and retention of personnel.
  • Provide continuous feedback to your team members as well as peers and leaders.
  • Develop processes and metrics and KPIs to improve effectiveness and efficiency of partner engagements.
  • Provide clear communication to your team, peers, and leadership on all essential matters.
  • Guide by example while performing the responsibilities of a partner solutions architect to drive customer and partner success.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Services teams to provide feedback to improve products, services and value messaging based on partner experiences and feedback
  • Work closely with partner business managers on strategy.

Requirements

  • Experienced in mentoring people, including giving and receiving constructive feedback
  • Experienced in collaborating with other managers and executing strategies
  • Technical presentation and communication skills
  • Experience with technical pre-sales or partner solutions architecture or as a professional in the field of information technology
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end software development lifecycle
  • Understanding of continuous integration and continuous deployment
  • Experience with modern software development or operations and their associated technologies
  • Experience with cloud computing and related technologies and practices
  • Willingness to travel
  • B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Ability to use GitLab
  • Ability to travel if needed and comply with the company’s travel policy

Hiring Process

  • Selected candidates will be invited to schedule a screening call with our Global Recruiters.
  • Next, candidates will be invited to schedule a first interview with a Customer Success VP or Director.
  • Candidate will then schedule an interview with an SA management peer.
  • Then, candidates will present a business plan to include 30/60/90 day approach, outcomes, and metrics.
  • Candidates may be invited to additional interviews.
  • Successful candidates will be made an offer after references are verified.

Compensation

For Colorado residents: The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently $111,300 – $202,700 for Colorado residents only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary. Disclosure as required by the Colorado Equal Pay for >Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-101 et seq.
