Business Development Manager

Eventbrite’s APAC team is looking for an experienced and passionate sales professional to join our team and service event creators with our proven, world-class product. Your day-to-day consists of working with a diverse mix of event organisers, and our platform offering and world-class technology means no one conversation with a potential organiser is ever the same. Our Business Development team are a consultative and ambitious experts in our field, and our return commitment to you is to help you build your career at Eventbrite through training, education and opportunities.


We’re on the hunt for a mid-market Business Development Manager to drive new business for Eventbrite. We’ll challenge you to bring your creative problem solving skills, natural business-development and commercial acumen, self-starter experience and competitive fire to help us win the market. You’ll come armed with a deep knowledge of the SaaS, events or ticketing landscape, and will focus your time researching, prioritising, penetrating, and closing opportunities across all verticals. Individual success means driving significant business value for event creators by helping them to sell more paid tickets, increase registrations and commercialisation of their event, through the right Eventbrite solution that helps them grow and succeed. In order to be successful, you’ll partner with our regional Business Development, Marketing and Customer Success teams to ensure you have everything you need to be successful.

This role may be based in Melbourne where our Eventbrite office is located or remotely. Your manager and broader team will supporting you from Eventbrite’s APAC headquarters in Melbourne and all over the world.




  • Own the full business development cycle including planning, cold calling, qualifying, obtaining and closing new business opportunities to achieve and exceed your quarterly and yearly targets
  • Meet and exceed established business targets including calls per day, new opportunities generated, closed deals and realised revenue
  • Discover new business opportunities by identifying right-fit target event organisers, prospecting, networking, direct marketing and generating referrals
  • Be an Eventbrite champion; supporting business development and customer success so that our business and brand has a local face and contact on-the-ground, no matter where you’re based. 
  • Develop expertise in the ticketing industry by identifying trends, market challenges, and competitive offerings within the local market region, and share this information back to the business to ensure we’re delivering a best-in-class product for your market
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks
  • Understand the event organiser’s key business initiatives; areas of concern; technology stack, and competitive environment, and pitch how Eventbrite can be applied to deliver value
  • Develop and deliver solution proposals, product demonstration and presentations
  • Customise the content of pitch presentations based on audience, prospect needs, industry dynamics and more
  • Manage the opportunity funnel by analysing and controlling pipeline activity in Salesforce and monitoring key activity against assigned quotas
  • Provide superior and delightful customer service throughout the entire business development process
  • Engage cross functionally with the Marketing, Customer Success and other stakeholders to close your deals and ensure a seamless experience for your customers 
  • Be an exceptional, active and supportive member of the Eventbrite team, both locally, and globally



  • Sales experience commensurate with a role at this level of seniority, with a record of quota over-achievement, preferably in an events, ticketing and / or SaaS environment
  • A strong commercial mindset and demonstrated ability to successfully manage and grow revenue within a position of this level
  • Proficient and demonstrable experience in prospecting, identifying target customers, evaluating buyer interest, recognising decision-making processes, qualifying, creating value-based demonstrations, writing proposals, objection handling and negotiating
  • Self motivated with the ability to work independently or at a distance from your team
  • A competitive fire and desire to win
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative work style
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or an alternative CRM system, GSuite and virtual presentation technology
  • Agile, ambitious and motivated to be the best at everything you do
