Demand Generation Manager, DocSend

Role Description

As a demand generation manager for DocSend, you will play a crucial role in areas of customer acquisition, paid media management, and lifecycle marketing. This IC role has the opportunity to continuously test our digital strategy while working cross-functionally with peers across marketing, growth, product, customer experience, and sales within DocSend and Dropbox.
The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of paid customer acquisition tactics and thrives off of continuously finding opportunities to get better results. They are comfortable translating strategies into actions. Success in this role will be measured by the trials and revenue brought in from paid media and improved conversion rates via lifecycle efforts.


  • Develop, plan, and execute tactics across paid user acquisition channels including SEM, paid social, display, gated content and retargeting
  • Help expansion into non-US markets
  • In close collaboration with our media agency, monitor and optimize ongoing performance factors such as keywords, audiences, placements, locations, and messaging to improve results. Continuously seek opportunities to improve ROAS and lower CAC.
  • Develop nurture programs for different lead sources and create/update email cadences to maximize trial signups and transactions. Help develop win-back programs.
  • Identify funnel bottlenecks and resolve by taking calculated actions to reduce friction
  • Launch occasional 3rd-party sponsorships
  • Work closely with the analytics and data science team to accurately measure the impact of paid media ($ value generated and the contributed percentage of the overall business revenue targets)
  • Work closely with other marketing and non-marketing functions such as PMM, content, MOPs, growth, CX, product, and others on different cross-functional projects
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports
  • Manage our digital media agency, set quarterly goals and follow through with action plans


  • 4+ years marketing experience with 3+ years experience in paid media or demand generation role
  • Hands-on execution, management, measurement, optimization of digital media campaigns with B2B and SaaS products
  • Successful track record of planning and launching marketing campaigns and ability to identify and implement scalable process improvements using a data-driven approach
  • Ability to effectively inspire, influence and communicate cross-functionally across all levels of management, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Extremely data-driven and committed to experimenting towards measurable results
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Strong proficiency with marketing automation and CRM tools such as Salesforce and Marketo
  • Experience with media buying in international markets
  • Experience with post-click optimization and creating landing pages
  • Experience with marketing in international markets and localization
  • Experience managing an external media agency a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Total Rewards

For candidates hired in the following locations: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, Colorado, Massachusetts, Maryland, Oregon, Washington D.C. metro, California (outside SF metro), the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $106,000 – $124,700 – $143,400.

For candidates hired in the following locations: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois (outside Chicago Metro), North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas (outside Austin Metro), Virginia (outside D.C. Metro), the expected salary/On-Target Earnings (OTE) range for the role is currently $94,300 – $110,900 – $127,500.

Range(s) is subject to change. Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use.

Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
