The team
Our Sales & Business Development teams collaborate with customers and partners across the globe to help them leverage the DocuSign Agreement Cloud to transform the entire system of agreement process—from preparing to signing, acting on, and managing contracts and other types of agreements. Our team’s partner with some of the largest most innovative companies in the world in dozens of industries to bring the power of DocuSign to more customers. This position
Reporting into the General Manager and Group Vice President of Sales for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) based in Sydney, the Senior Director Sales Development role is a pivotal leadership position in DocuSign’s APJ sales team in Australia. This role is integral in generating sales opportunities and pipeline to all sales segments, enabling DocuSign to continue to scale growth across the region.  This role is Flex.



  • Managing both inbound and outbound sales development functions for all APJ sales segments
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing both 2nd line and 1st line managers
  • You will lead multiple teams of sales development reps who will qualify leads and opportunities in core APJ territories such as Australia & New Zealand, Asia and Japan
  • Translate business objectives into clear and measurable goals for all teams and their respective territories
  • Close alignment with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Sales Strategy and Sales Enablement to create, implement and execute new business sales campaigns in industry specific verticals
  • Working closely with APJ Marketing to leverage a wide range of demand generation methodologies to build and nurture customer relationships (for example Social Selling, LinkedIn, Salesforce) that supports both all sales segments’ generation requirements
  • Close collaboration with APJ Marketing to ensure promotions, campaigns and messaging across accounts and industries is visible and clearly understood
  • Interpreting and analysing sales lead flow and pipeline metrics for various territories and sales segments (SMB, Mid-Market, Major and Enterprise) to understand trends and insights
  • Planning demand generation activities for the APJ region that reflect the continued expansion and development of DocuSign’s Agreement Cloud platform (E-Signature, CLM, Artificial Intelligence etc)
  • Grow, manage and promote a team of high performers (managers and individual contributors) thereby developing future talent pools for DocuSign in APJ
  • Achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual pipeline generation revenue goals and objectives
  • Innovate for the future and continue to grow this high performing division for the coming years


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree qualified
  • 5-7 years of Inside Sales or Business Development leadership experience
  • Executive level engagement and negotiation skills
  • Enterprise software and SaaS domain expertise with knowledge of working with a suite or platform of multiple software solutions
  • APJ territory sales knowledge including how to create with Marketing multiple revenue generating campaigns across territories and industry verticals ( eg Finserv, HR, Manufacturing )
  • Excellent analytical and operational skills (reporting, forecasting, data analysis) with a quantitative approach to solving problems
  • An influential networker, a natural relationship builder with superlative communication and influencing skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
  • A proven track of success in a leadership position in a Sales Development function.
  • A proven track record of success in leading managing and developing revenue generating teams and/ or divisions
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, coach and motivate teams of revenue generating teams
  • Experience in building and scaling teams and divisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in leading and building top-performing inside or territory-based sales teams
  • Master’s degree
  • Knowledge of Eloqua and Salesforce CRM
  • Knowledge of Electronic Signature solutions
  • Knowledge of CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) software solutions
  • Public speaking – Internal / external events, Fireside chats, Annual kick-off, weekly stand-ups
