Datadog is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to keep up with our rapidly growing company. As a member of the APAC payroll team, you will support the payroll and compliance process for Australia, and Singapore as well as providing back up assistance with Japan and South Korea payrolls. You will also support countries under PEO (professional employer organization) status. The Senior Payroll Specialist will review accuracy and partner closely with our Payroll Manager to ensure payroll objectives and deadlines, quality of service and operational performance are met. Most importantly, you will collaborate with our People and Finance teams to continue to scale this important function. This person will be based in Sydney (or remotely in Melbourne or Brisbane) and report directly into the Regional Payroll Manager.
Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring data accuracy and meeting of deadlines
Handle all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholdings and employer contributions
Administer workers compensation, FBT, PAYG, superannuation, vacation and sick leave accruals, overtime and equity transactions
Work with the Finance team to support audits, identify and implement control improvements, and ensure efficient processes are rigorously followed
Manage regional payroll partners and PEO, including defining KPIs and standards they are required to meet
Liaise with payroll counterparts in Americas and EMEA to ensure global consistency of payroll processes and practices
Answer employee questions regarding their payslips
Assist in the opening of new subsidies throughout APAC as necessary
Improve internal controls to ensure propeiaries thror treatment and compliance of all payroll transactions
At least four years of payroll processing experience using ADP Streamline, Celergo, TMF, or other global payroll platforms; also experience working with PEOs or similar third-party arrangements
Experience with Workday is a plus
Proficiency in Excel including pivot tables, vlookups, conditional formatting, if-and formulas
Service-oriented attitude and patience to work with all types of employees
Knowledge of recording equity transactions within payroll
Ability to interpret and communicate policies, procedures and programs
Critical thinking, problem solving and judgement skills
Self-sufficient and able to work independently
Must be fluent in English
