Sr. Director, Global Sales Compensation

The Senior Director, Global Sales Compensation is a key leadership role in the finance organization, reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller and leading the team that manages the entire end-to-end global process for Sales Commissions.  You will oversee the operationalization of our global incentive compensation plans, including plan distribution, calculations, payments, reporting, audit/compliance, enablement as well as the supporting technology. You will partner closely with the sales strategy and operations leadership team to transform the commissions process and establish the strategic vision and lead the execution of scaling our organization, processes and technology. You will apply advanced analytical, problem solving and leadership skills while engaging team members and interdepartmental resources in the execution of streamlined sales compensation processes. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader, a problem solver and is comfortable in challenging the status quo in order to improve and scale the function. You should also have experience partnering with multiple stakeholders and functional leaders to drive cross-functional, enterprise-wide initiatives while ensuring strong execution, governance and compliance.

 

The impact you will have:

  • Create the strategy, planning and operationalization of global incentive compensation plans for a hyper growth organization and serve as key advisor and partner to operationalize GTM strategy, business needs, challenges, and goals into compensation solutions that scale.
  • Lead and own the end-to-end sales compensation administration including building out an optimized operating model as a world class sales compensation program.
  • Lead and grow a global team of highly skilled commissions professionals with a continuous focus on professional development to ensure the team can support evolving business needs and changes.
  • Drive global consistency, data quality, processing accuracy, develop and track metrics to assess program effectiveness.
  • Continually evaluate our Sales Compensation business processes with an eye toward scalability, streamlining, automation, efficiency gains, data accuracy and enhanced governance and controls. 
  • Own enhancement of sales compensation dashboards, reporting, metrics and analytical insights for strategic decisions as well as visibility for the sales organization.
  • Responsible for the long-term growth and evolution of the function.

 

What we look for:

  • 15+ years of experience in sales compensation and commissions management role (with a minimum of 10 years as a people manager), preferably with a fast-growing enterprise software company with complex commissions plans
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership/management position with a demonstrated ability and track record of success in driving change and improving operations
  • Experience creating partnerships with senior leaders and determining solutions to help scale business operations
  • Strong organizational, change management, and execution skills, along with the ability to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience leading the scaling of people, processes, and systems in high-growth and dynamic environments
  • Understanding of commissions systems (e.g. Xactly, Callidus) design and implementation
  • Strong knowledge of SOX requirements, including the ability to assess, develop and implement internal controls
  • BS in Accounting and CPA, MBA a plus
