Senior Financial Analyst – Revenue

Databricks is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Sales Finance team in the FP&A organization. You will report to the Finance Manager of Sales Finance. The Sales Finance team's primary goal is to help Databricks continue optimizing investment for long-term growth through thoughtful analysis and improving visibility across the business. You will build, improve, and scale the subscription revenue model – an essential workflow for maintaining high degrees forecast accuracy and predictability for Databricks. You will also partner with finance, accounting, revenue operations, and data engineering to find ways to improve automation, enhance data quality, and scale our financial models. You will also build cohesive narratives and executive presentation materials for finance leadership to illustrate trends and growth levers within Databricks' consumption model.

The impact you will have:

  • Work with accounting, finance, and management to provide financial support to the business.
  • Build SaaS revenue forecasting models to form the basis for quarterly revenue forecasts and financial guidance.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process and flux analysis in partnership with revenue operations and accounting.
  • Perform scenario analyses using a variety of variable inputs from accounting, sales, and data science to ensure high degrees of forecast accuracy each month.
  • Create executive facing materials for the CFO that summarize historical trends, forecast scenarios, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide support for the executive leadership team to make decisions that improve Company performance.
  • Influence design choices and governance around Databricks' revenue data model as we grow.
  • Build relationships across other departments to share best practices, identify gaps, and educate partners on the importance of forecasting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements

What we look for:

  • BS in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance or comparable field
  • Experience simplifying and scaling while supporting a fast moving business
  • Excellent analytical skills to concurrently
  • 5 or more years of finance, revenue operations, public accounting, or comparable experience; familiarity with the software industry (and SaaS) a plus
  • Expert in Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets); comfortable managing large datasets and driver-based models
  • Process and detail oriented
  • Experience with current revenue recognition guidance for enterprise software and SaaS arrangements (e.g. ASC 606)
  • Familiarity with ERP and planning tools such as Netsuite and Anaplan
  • Experience using SQL and relational databases a plus
