Head of International Accounting

Databricks is looking for a Head of International Accounting to lead the financial activities of our foreign subsidiaries. Reporting to the Director, Accounting and Reporting, you will work with global teams across Accounting, Tax, Finance, Payroll and Legal to ensure monthly results are reported correctly in the global consolidated financials and local statutory filings are completed timely. You will need to think strategically, build strong internal and external relationships, and develop controlled and efficient processes.

 

The impact you will have:

  • You will lead various projects that are currently in-place for our international accounting operations
  • You will develop an action plan for coordinating, communicating and training a shared-service team
  • You will oversee the UK-based accounting team and outsourcing partners responsible for the ongoing financial activities of our EMEA, APAC and Canada subsidiaries including G/L and intercompany accounting, month-end close and local entity statutory accounting compliance
  • You will review monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and flux analysis for all international entities
  • You will develop and strengthen global processes related to our accounting close, new entity onboarding, audit and tax provision, international acquisitions and SOX compliance
  • You will oversee the relationship with international banking partners and spearhead international treasury efforts relating to currency exposure and worldwide funding
  • You will own transfer pricing calculations and support international tax structure compliance
  • You will develop, motivate and lead the international accounting team

 

What we look for:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting or related field
  • Extensive accounting experience working in global entities managing various accounting entities
  • ACA/ACCA/CPA or equivalent
  • Experience leading teams with a US-based multinational public company
  • Experience in working with offshore shared-service teams
  • Experience with financial systems (NetSuite, Coupa, FloQast, Gappify)
  • Have excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solvers who can critically think through complex problems, find solutions and communicate results
