Job Overview:

The University partnerships team is responsible to source the best possible content and programs for our learners from 160+ of the best universities worldwide. This requires us to build strong and long-lasting relationships with our partners and to work closely with them to define and execute their strategy.

As part of the team, you will manage a portfolio of universities, working closely with them to build trusting relationships, proactively understanding their context and concerns, and help Coursera leverage such partnerships to achieve its goals. Your work will demand that you can interface with a range of stakeholders from senior-level leadership to instructors and program managers. Central to your work is the ability to demonstrate and ensure Coursera’s value to the institution while shaping a strategy for the partnership that drives long-term engagement.


  • Drive partner revenue through sourcing new non-credentialed content and growing existing content
  • Build and manage relationships with university leadership and administrators to understand and influence their vision, strategy, and content pipeline potential 
  • Support and drive contract renewals and creation of partner-facing materials 
  • Execute account management functions like recurring strategic partner reviews, and troubleshoot issues for your portfolio in conjunction with other Pod members
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new content growth, prioritize accounts, handle objections, and evaluate growth opportunities 
  • Ensure smooth running partnerships through focus on contractual commitments, financial reporting, deadline adherence, and other obligations


Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in an account management, customer success, program management, or higher education role
  • Experience developing and meeting strategic goals within a portfolio and demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to influence others through relationship building


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Fluency in an additional language would be advantageous (Arabic, Spanish, French, German)
  • Passion for Coursera’s mission, building trusted relationships, and achieving ambitious goals to bring high-quality content to learners around the world
  • Excellent presentation skills. Executive presence, ability to work with senior university administrators and faculty. Entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in ambiguous, quickly-changing environments
  • Understanding of the Higher Education and EdTech market including higher education landscape, key influencers, decision making process, budgeting etc.
  • Natural problem solver and strategic thinker, comfortable deriving insights from data and complex scenarios with ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities
