Coupa is looking to add to our Technical Writing Team in EMEA. You will be joining an international team and engage with colleagues across Coupa including product development, Legal, and Instructional Design.
This is an exciting time to join us as we continue our growth and you will be instrumental in documenting and developing the best possible description of our products to present to customers and local regulators.

 

How You Will Impact Coupa Every Day

 

  • Work with functional leads to manage team workload and priorities.
  • Own, create, and maintain security & compliance documentation around the product and operations of the Coupa platform. This customer-facing documentation will be focused on meeting regulatory and compliance requirements as defined by the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance organisation.
  • Develop and deliver a consistent format and cohesive voice across all departments, content, and documentation platforms
  • Write easy-to-understand documentation and articles for customers to access through our online portal while assisting support teams with answering customer questions.
  • Manage a large portfolio of diverse writing projects, such as hardware configuration, compliance certification, security controls, and product-specific security/compliance topics.
  • Work independently while gathering information from a wide variety of technology and operational team members. This may include participating in meetings, examining design documents, attending demos, and interpreting epics, among other activities;
  • Create, update, and improve online customer-facing compliance documentation using documentation tools and structured-authoring best practices;
  • Review Jira tickets and decide what technical information to convert into release notes for customers;
  • Coordinate with other technical writers on the Documentation team to prepare and deliver world-class documentation for feature releases and compliance articles;
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with cross-functional teams across international time zones; 
  • Use data-driven metrics and customer feedback to improve documentation;
  • Support other parts of the organisation as they develop and deliver content for customers, partners, and employees;
  • Participate in workgroups and team projects to continually advance documentation quality and best practices.

    What You Will Bring to Coupa

     

  • A robust understanding of and experience with DITA, XML, and structured authoring.
  • Experience writing process-focused documentation for software development audiences, engineering, operations, or equivalent experience writing or testing code and solid experience of writing security documentation.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to analyse and document business/IT processes, and formulate KPIs and metrics in compliance with GRC standards and control requirements.
  • Have the ability to translate processes into workflows and document interfaces with other processes and business functions.
  • Manage, monitor, review, and update all procedural documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Have a good understanding of Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance terminology.
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills. Build strong working relationships with Product, Cloud Operations, Engineering, Business Applications, Finance/Procurement, Corporate IT, Human Resources, Technical Support, etc. to help facilitate documentation of existing processes.
  • Understand and have awareness of security best practices, concepts, and tools for producing SaaS applications.
  • A solid foundation in technical-writing principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Superior written English skills, including extensive knowledge of the rules of composition and grammar as well as experience applying style rules to content;
  • A familiarity with help-authoring tools, content management systems, and associated technologies and standards (such as Markdown, HTML/HTML5, CSS, etc.);
  • Experience with agile software development methodology; 
  • A portfolio of writing samples demonstrating excellent written communication skills, the ability to adapt communications to varied audiences, and the ability to translate complex concepts into easy-to-understand, user-focused content;
  • A demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deliverables over tight timelines with minimal supervision, independently prioritise tasks, and reprioritise on short notice; 
  • Strongly held opinions about the Oxford comma.
