How you will impact Coupa Every Day
Participate and play a key role in the delivery of successful annual standalone external audits for all Coupa EMEA entities
Participate in the review of annual CIT return for the entities in scope and Tax planning supporting role. Ensure tax compliance and identify opportunities to improve tax effectiveness.
Participate in the local statutory book keeping for EMEA entities and manage the team members in the process to close the books on time
Participate in the preparation and timely filing of all VAT returns for registered EMEA entities.
This position requires a strong understanding of local GAAPs/IFRS within the EMEA countries accounting and reporting rules and the ability to research and conclude on accounting issues including tax issues. US GAAP experience is a plus.
Preparing the reconciliation and conversion of US GAAP to Local GAAP/IFRS financials and presenting these to the US Finance team
Partnering with external advisers and auditors, requesting information and support from internal Coupa teams, checking and explaining to external parties to resolve audit and accounting queries.
Partnering with the US Tax team on the EMEA tax projects and transfer pricing studies.
Involvement in the daily invoice finance review and approval process within MyCoupa for the EMEA region. This will involve working with the Accounts payable and treasury teams and with key stakeholders in the region.
Raise spend requisitions in MyCoupa for external services required. Manage and budget this spend with the advisers against the pre-ap proved spend levels.
Take part in internal and external ad hoc finance projects including but not limited to integration of acquisitions in the region and legal entity rationalisation projects – where post acquisition entity structures are streamlined. This will include working with HR/Payroll and legal internally and external legal and accounting firms.
What You Will Bring To Coupa
CPA is required
Experience required in finance (Controlling, Consolidation & Reporting, Audit etc.)
Experience working on consolidated group audits with foreign reporting is a plus.
Big four experience is a plus
Working knowledge of local EMEA GAAPs/IFRS accounting standards and other relevant local finance regulations in EMEA accounting standards. Experience of US GAAP is a plus.
Ability to identify GAAP differences between USGAAP and local accounting standards, being able to clearly articulate these differences and properly manage them
Experience of corporate tax returns for multiple EMEA countries is required and an understanding of the VAT principles is required.
Fluent in spoken and written English. Any understanding of German or French is a plus.
Help to establish strong in region finance processes and improve existing methods.
Access to a growing network and relationships with professional advisers across the EMEA region.
Ability to understand and interpret local tax requirements
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks/initiatives, and meet established deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under tight deadlines
Advanced personal computer skills i.e. MS Office, Google Docs
Experience and knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.
