About the role
Finance and Treasury Services is a suite of products responsible for enhancing and optimising Checkout.com’s financial processes, becoming the golden source and distribution hub of financial data to a variety of end user groups. With Checkout.com’s fast paced growth and sophisticated business domain we thrive in the ongoing challenges of data integrity, granularity, and scalability.
The Pricing & Billing team has been transformed into a centralised pillar within FTS. Prior to this, pricing was bespoke and did not scale well and billing was performed manually by separate teams. By centralising it, we are aiming to offer dynamic pricing models for all our products with minimum friction as well as automating existing manual billing processes. We also seek to leverage other pricing features that can make CKOs offering more compelling to prospect merchants.

Passionate about leading technical teams, being a leader as well as a manager
Strong prior experience leading a technical engineering team of 10+ Engineers
Enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job
Experience in crafting and leading scalable, high efficiency, or highly available systems
Experienced in stakeholder management, and is able to set realistic expectations through good communication
An understanding of finance and financial analytics
Strong prioritisation and organisation skills
Good capability to balance delivery and team satisfaction
Experience using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment technologies
Experience operating mission-critical services in the Cloud
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage and support Engineers within Pricing and Billing
Take ownership of the architecture and solutions and be responsible for the delivery of projects, while maintaining team satisfaction
Uphold high standards for our uptime and latency requirements while not sacrificing the veracity of API responses
Manage and lead engineers on the team, and help them advance in their careers
Participate in maintaining the team’s cohesion and healthiness
Build a solid legacy while focussing on the long-term and short-term goals of the team
Planning, prioritising and coordinating the workload to ensure strong delivery
Handle our incident response and post-incident investigation processes; participate in on-call rotations
Make difficult choices in planning for the long-term vision of our infrastructure and its quality while not overengineering
Maintain high-quality standards for code, infrastructure, and documentation
