Brand Design Operations at Checkout.com

About the design team:
The whole design team works across most things at Checkout. From brand identity, events and performance marketing to print, to holistic product experiences on web and mobile, with great technical documentation.
We’re a fully complementary team of researchers, writers, designers and operations, where some are embedded into small product teams and others work across multiple product lines (known as the hybrid centralised model).

About the brand design team:
The Brand Design team owns the expressive strategy for Checkout. We do this by creating, evolving, and maintaining the visual identity design system. We stand by our principles, systems, and standards that make it efficient in creating extraordinary work with our colleagues and partners.

Brand Design Operations at Checkout
The Design Operations team constantly pushes for efficiency. We create systems and processes that enable us to deliver work of the highest quality at speed, constantly evolving and pushing our brand whilst ensuring our team is motivated and productive. Our operations team excels at delivering projects, on time and within scope, ensuring that communication is clear throughout. 

 

What you will be doing

 

  • Lead end to end production/project delivery processes and timelines at all stages – from briefing to concept and creative execution
  • Create the right processes and structure for the brand design team to flourish
  • Collaborate across all fields in the business ensuring meetings, workshops, retros are well structured and efficient while navigating complex cross-team dependencies and aligning clear decision making
  • Set measurable outcomes through design standards and metrics
  • Socialise successes and create replicable playbooks and education to help Checkout.com scale rapidly
  • Support our Brand Operations Lead with brief prioritisation, studio resourcing, roadmap and program planning

  • Excellent track record of seamlessly delivering multiple projects on time, yet you don’t rest on your laurels and continually strive to improve processes
  • You have experience with all elements of the creative delivery process and understand how to balance creative considerations with clear business objectives and realistic outcome
  • You know how to develop strong relationships with peers, cross functional partners, and senior leadership across the business
  • You love processes, helping people work together, being hands on, and are constantly aiming for solutions until all details are resolved elegantly
  • You have a flexible approach and strong problem solving, negotiating and organisational skills
  • You inspire everyone around you in creating a culture of excellence, and thrive on educating and guiding project teams in best practices and collaboration with Brand Design
  • You have experience of working with project management tools
  • You care deeply. You believe you have a civic responsibility to your fellow human being that everything is made in the pursuit of perfection. You welcome criticism.
