The Company You’ll Join
At Carta we create owners and make private markets liquid.
We live in a world where some people live on the equity stack and enjoy exponential wealth growth and preferential tax treatment; others live on the debt stack and may work their entire lives for a company and retire only with the cash they’ve managed to save from their paychecks. Our contribution to solving the wealth inequality problem is moving people from the debt stack (payroll) to the equity stack. By making it as easy to issue equity to employees as it is to put them on payroll, we can create more owners.
At Carta, we are helpful, transparent, fair, and kind. We are relentless executors, unconventional thinkers, and masters of our craft.

The Team You’ll Work With
Part of the broader Marketing, Channel, Policy, and Growth Product organization, Brand Marketing is the guiding force for Carta’s growing brand presence. We are the stewards of brand strategy, building alignment for the next era of the organization. Carta is rapidly expanding from a business defined by a single product (Cap Table Management) to an integrated platform of equity-driven solutions that deliver greater value for more participants (products like Carta Total Compensation, Investor Services and Employee Financial Services). The team is driven by the opportunity to distinguish Carta across its categories, helping democratize equity ownership, and increasing access to financial education.
The Problems You’ll Solve
- Work alongside Brand Strategy Directors to help build strategic deliverables and set direction for our brands, including positioning, creative briefs, product naming, brand architecture and expansion.
- Partner with product marketing and audience leads to steer product messaging, serving as brand evangelist within product teams to unify talking points and narrative.
- Help set the strategic vision for Carta’s product brands as we expand our marketing funnel and diversify media activations, growing relevance with key customer segments across paid, earned and owned channels.
- Stay connected with broader trends impacting key business units to keep the Brand Strategy team and Executives on the forefront of the forces impacting clients and prospects.
The Impact You’ll Have
As our product range expands so does our competitive set, but it also means we can grow brand relevance to become greater partners to our customers. This is predicated on our ability to communicate our unique value as we diversify! The challenge is great but the opportunity is greater. You will work alongside a team of amazing brand strategists to help build the frameworks that carry our brand vision into our second decade.
You’ve built the fundamentals of brand strategy and are comfortable taking on new projects in new industries. You are naturally curious and eager to attack challenges, solve new problems and uncover brand opportunities. Category experience is less important than a mindset that can see the potential that lies in fundamentally transforming the spaces where we compete.
We have multiple lines of business and many products within each; you’ll need to be adaptable based on demands of the moment. You will collaborate with seasoned strategists on larger projects. You will also work independently to lead smaller projects and establish strategic relationships across a number of business units.
You are comfortable with a level of operational ambiguity, working towards outcome rather than checking off the boxes of process. We are actively building our practice — which you will help shape — and together we will establish the definitive brand marketing org in our industry.
The Interview Process
Interviews with brand marketing stakeholders and product team leads to better understand your strategic process and how you approach brand challenges. You may be asked to submit samples of previous strategy work (creative briefs, strategic positioning, creative campaigns, etc).
Covid Vaccine Policy
In an effort to safeguard the health of our employees, Carta has implemented a policy requiring all new hires to receive the COVID vaccine (including boosters as the individuals become eligible for them). Proof of vaccination will be required as a condition of employment. Carta will continue to comply with applicable laws regarding the reasonable accommodation of individuals with disabilities and/or strongly held religious beliefs. This policy is part of Carta’s ongoing efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff and community, and to support public health efforts.
