About the group & team

The SEO Team sits right at the intersection of product and marketing with a focus on high-impact landing pages across our platform. Canva has one of the strongest SEO strategies in the world. Our goal is pretty simple; Empower every user in the world to discover Canva, and inspire them to create their next design. We’re a world-class cross-disciplinary group of product managers, researchers, designers, engineers and content specialists. 

As part of this team you work on our product pages and website experiences are seen and used by millions of users. You’ll design great-looking visual assets that teach users about our products and features, and make lasting first impressions. You’ll deliver long-term value to our users through experimentation and iteration to better our digital experiences and increase overall discoverability.

About the Digital Design specialty

Digital designers have the chance to collaborate and work between Brand and Product. Working at the top of the funnel you will be designing pages viewed by millions. This is an incredible opportunity to help develop our brand awareness and have a direct impact on our MAUs and revenue goals. Being the first touch-point at the start of the user journey, you will be responsible for delivering landing pages that meet our user’s needs and drive adoption. Working in a cross functional team, you will be responsible to bring designs to life from start to finish. That may involve a wide range of tasks such as brainstorming, writing creative briefs or design documents, wireframes, visual designs, prototype, interaction, and more.

 

What we look for

 

  • A portfolio that demonstrates experience designing, shipping and iterating digital experiences including websites, landing pages.
  • An understanding of digital/web design principles and application of visual design. Exhibits passion and empathy when creating user-centered experiences, and responsive websites
  • Strong graphic, and visual design skills leveraging typography, layout, compositions, motion to visually communicate.
  • You have experience of developing responsive designs utilizing the most current software and technology. 
  • Ability to produce creative, on-brand visual designs, with great attention to detail, and craftsmanship.
  • You are comfortable working in a high pace and iterative environment inside a cross-functional team.
  • Highly collaborative, you are able to bring people with you on the design journey, proposing creative solutions informed by data and research while addressing business goals and strategies.
  • Receptive to team collaboration, creative direction and feedback. 
  • You are a problem solver that’s excited by a challenge.
  • Comfortable with chaos. You can find solutions even without perfect precedents or direction, and map out a path to clarity and execution. You can work out ways to achieve the impossible.
  • You enjoy a little flexibility in your work. Our growth means there are constantly new things to work on every day, as such it’s likely that you’ll often be working across the board on new and exciting projects.

    What you’ll do

     

  • (Discovery) Contribute to the discovery phase with research, competitor analysis,  inspiration, wireframes, user flows etc..  and help define the problem and solutions.
  • (Definition) Translate insights, data and user research into visual design to validate ideas with stakeholders and end-users. 
  • (Visual design) Design creative and on-brand visual solutions such as landing pages, graphics that drive users to the product and inspire them to create a design
  • (Implementation) Work closely with engineers during implementation and review final deliverables with an exacting eye, ensuring that layout, images, typography and general experience is flawless and on-brand.
  • (Iteration) Iterate and optimize user flows for conversion.
  • Design at scale keeping in mind internationalization, CMS integration, accessibility, design system, mobile design and various technical constraints and opportunities.
