Team & role
Our brand team’s mission is to make Canva the most loved company in the world. As Canva’s social media content expert, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategy that reinforces our brand and values and showcases the stories of our community and team in the Education sector.

You’ll be a creative and strategic storyteller with experience executing across all social media platforms. You’ll be a risk-taker, embrace experimenting with new ideas, thrive in ambiguity and love big challenges. You’ll live and breathe social and cultural trends and be a fountain of knowledge when it comes to social platforms, viral campaigns, emerging conversations, brands, tools and social insights. 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Support with the development of an ongoing content calendar to ensure a constant supply of relevant content across our channels and Education Facebook community. 
  • Get hands-on with content creation across our social media channels to bring your ideas to life. 
  • Be the eyes and ears of the community for the Education team, sourcing community stories that have been shared across our social channels that we could showcase to the world. 
  • Help amplify our content through influencer partnerships that align with our brand values and regularly review channels for potential opportunities to support with driving awareness of Canva across the globe.
  • Report on the success of our content across relevant channels, and report back on how this supports overall business goals with the support of the Community team lead. 
  • Continuously evolve our channel and content strategy through analysis of data to understand what is working and what’s not working. 
  • Act as the brand guardian for all social media content across our Education channels, ensuring we establish a strong tone of voice. 
  • Monitor social media trends and the competitive landscape so we can create strategic decisions for the brand. Share learnings and best practices with the wider team.

    What we’re looking for:

     

  • At least 3 years experience in social media content strategy and execution.
  • A creative thinker with hands-on experience creating content for brands.
  • Experience working in the Education sector is a huge bonus!
  • A love for video content, and a passion for creating content that inspires, educates and entertains.   
  • Expert knowledge of social media networks, and how best to leverage them (Including but not limited to Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook). Proven results in generating and growing these channels. 
  • An understanding of the role social plays in the wider marketing mix.
  • The ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities whilst delivering quality and timely content.
  • Someone that loves a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and that can bring order and efficiency amongst the chaos.
  • While we won’t be taking any blood samples, we’d love to see some Startup DNA – you will need to be flexible, pragmatic, strategic, tenacious, and take ownership of deliverables and outcomes – ya gotta have hustle!
  • You’ll have incredible organisational skills and attention to detail and be able to balance the big picture with short term needs/initiatives
  • Salary – $80,000-$100,000
