Product Management @ Canva 
The mission of Product Managers at Canva is to create the most accessible design tool for every person in the world. We believe that we can improve the world by empowering everyone to design and communicate visually. As a Product Manager at Canva you help set this vision, define what that future looks like, and build the products and features that get us there.

Product Managers collaborate with Canva’s founders to set the strategic direction, scope, and success metrics for product initiatives. We work across teams of designers, software engineers, marketers and analysts to ensure we’re delivering an exceptional experience to all our users. We are responsible for implementing and collaborating on product strategy, road mapping, and prioritisation as our product grows. 
It’s our responsibility to see products through their entire lifecycle—from concept through to validation, build, post-launch analytics and iterations.

About the group and team
The Teams & Education supergroup is on a mission to inspire everyone to create and collaborate together. Canva’s subscription products including Pro, Teams, Education and Nonprofits are product led from within the Teams & Education supergroup, as well as all the core teams product experiences such as content management and collaboration. 2022 is the year of the Teams Dream at Canva, with a huge focus on winning teams after seeing huge success for teams growth in 2021. Canva already counts many active users from over 85% of Fortune 1000 companies amongst our 60 million + MAUs, and this is growing rapidly every day, so we have a huge opportunity in front of us. Within the Teams & Education supergroup is the Manage Teams group. This group is doubling down on a number of critical initiatives to help us achieve our company-level strategy of driving teams and collaboration in Canva. We want to make Canva the tool that every team big and small wants to use to collaborate and communicate in everyday – from the classroom to the workplace. We are early on in our journey to make Canva the household name for teams and businesses, and there is a whole lot more to do to achieve our vision and so we are looking for a Teams Product Lead  to join us and help propel us towards our vision.

About you
You can dream up a vision, set a product strategy and bring teams together to create and deliver a roadmap that requires multiple teams and groups to support. You thrive in a collaborative fast-paced environment, working with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales and everyone else in between. You have experience scaling a team during hyper growth, coaching a team of product managers and your communication skills empower you to inspire your teams to dream and achieve crazy big goals.  You love to take green-field opportunities and build solutions, teams & processes to solve them. Living and breathing all things growth, you make data-informed, strategic decisions and deliver on them to lead your team to great results. 

 

Goals you will achieve in the first 6-12 months

 

  • Understand the different types of businesses on Canva today, how we acquire them, how they form, what they value, and why they stay
  • Understand Canva’s business – how we build product, grow, our levers and metrics
  • Evolve our new winning every business strategy, identifying high impact initiatives and gaining stakeholder buy-in across Canva.
  • Set the strategy for how we will differentiate Canva’s Pro Teams product from Enterprise and what compelling USP will help us achieve our goals for being adopted by large organisations around the world. 
  • Work closely with data and growth teams to identify opportunities to improve team retention and seat size. 
  • Dive deep into the verticals Canva is targeting and get to know the jobs to be done of the verticals we know less about.
  • Using this information to continue to evolve our winning every business strategy. 
  • Work with the team to ship the teams product roadmap in the first 3 months to learn our end to end product process
  • Work with product leads across Canva to influence the roadmap of all Canva’s groups to meet the needs of all our business users. 
  • Partner with our Sales & Marketing on go-to-market – ensuring all our insights and opportunities are feeding back into our Product & Growth roadmaps, and ultimately doing whatever it takes to hit our growth goals.
  • Work with our Product Growth squads to ensure we are building a highly scaled, automated and personalised B2B growth engine through identifying high potential B2B customers amongst our 60 million+ MAUs
  • Take on ownership of operationalising and scaling our org to deliver on our company wide business growth strategy Identify strategic partnerships crucial to our success in winning every business

    Responsibilites

     

  • Product Strategy – Own our cross-company Canva Teams product roadmap.
  • Collaborating with leadership peers across Canva to shape and drive the highest impact roadmap possible
  • Product Execution – Coordinate our team(s) to deliver on this roadmap, diving in to product manage initiatives where required. 
  • Subject Matter Expertise – Become an internal subject matter expert on the needs of businesses, small and large
  • Decision Making – Drive key decisions needed to be made toward our Teams Dream strategy.
  • Prepare and present decision decks and drive alignment with founders.
  • GTM – Partner with our Sales & Marketing on go-to-market – ensuring all our insights and opportunities are feeding back into our Product & Growth roadmaps, and ultimately doing whatever it takes to hit our growth goals.
  • Operational Excellence – Partner with Program Management to ensure we are building a world-class, high-performing team of cross-functional experts from Product, Sales & Marketing.
  • Lead cross group product initiatives to solve big business problems that require many different product teams across Canva to come together and execute on. 
  • Group Leadership – lead the Manage Teams group and foster and nurture Canva’s culture within the group. 
  • Oversee the planning process and coordinate the efforts of a cross-functional team to maintain a happy healthy team that sets crazy big goals and achieves them.

    Experience

     

  • You have 8+ years of experience in a product management role; in a product-led Enterprise of B2B SaaS company. 
  • You have experience coaching Product Managers to deliver on the strategy and build their key craft areas.
  • You have 2+ years experience coaching several product managers. 
  • You are constantly motivating those around you through your passion and drive for what you do and keep everyone on track, ensuring everyone’s doing their best.
  • You can rally the team to work together and make sure everyone is working effectively to reach their goals.
  • You love solving ambiguous business problems, and building solutions, processes and teams around them.
  • Data, experimentation and AB testing is your second language.
  • You feel at home when using data to make decisions—whether that’s analytics, user research, survey feedback, or in-person user testing.
  • When presented with competing imperatives and a mountain of data, you can identify and organize clear, concise actions, arriving at appealing and practical solutions to problems.
  • Your growth skills are sharp but so is your eye for a great product experience
  • You love jamming with the Marketing team on a new campaign idea, and jumping in on Sales calls to learn the challenges & aspirations of our customers.
  • You pride yourself on being an owner and getting projects from idea to live as quickly as possible!
  • You move ideas from the chaos of brainstorming and mock-ups to the clarity of execution and impact.
  • You thrive on being in the middle of a cross-functional team, wearing lots of hats and doing whatever it takes to help your team and the business succeed.
