As a Business Systems Analyst, you’ll use technology to design new IT solutions, modify, enhance and implement current systems, and integrate new features or improvements in order to improve efficiency and productivity for our People team.

We are ever-evolving so you’ll always be on the lookout for ways to enhance our internal processes & systems to ensure it aligns with our business goals and end user experience.

You think holistically about people technology, the tools, the systems and the processes that support them. You’re a creative problem solver, who creates exciting and efficient technology experiences.

About the team
The People Systems team supports the evaluation, implementation, administration, and ongoing innovation of the technology stack across our hire to retire value stream. With Workday as our foundational HRIS, our team are solving some of Canva’s biggest challenges by automating our people processes to allow our employees to do their best work at a place they love.

Join us as our next Business Systems Analyst to help define technology strategies and facilitate technical requirements and implementations for our People Group.


What you’ll do


  • Connect operational strategy across People Teams and IT with technical best practices to ensure our systems scale to meet our growing needs
  • Handle the technical backlog for systems in the People group and help facilitate steering committee meetings with team leads that effectively drive aligned prioritisation of technical improvements
  • Partner with the People, IT & Procurement teams to execute against goals that scale Canva to be the world’s best company
  • Focus on business process improvements by creating and maintaining technical documentation of all systems under your ownership to enable seamless change management as we scale
  • Enable a data driven culture by ensuring that our data architecture of new and existing systems are in line with the metrics and standard in our Data group
  • Lean in with team members to assist with development of process documentation and business requirements where needed to ensure quality delivery of system improvements
  • Take a proactive approach to investigative work to determine requirements and specify effective business processes
  • Collaborate with other cross functional technology leads and teams to create and monitor integrations; making sure integrations optimally
  • Resolving issues and create an excellent working relationship with third party system vendors to ensure exceptional service delivery

    About you


  • You have experience working in complex organisations with the ability to operate and be successful in a high growth environment, and thrive on problem solving when dealing with ambiguity. You are happy to get into the thick of it all when needed.
  • You bring proven success in large scale people technology implementations across a specific or broad range of functional People areas such as Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Experience, Employee Engagement, Onboarding, Learning and Development, Training and Development, Insights etc.
  • You have hands on experience with best in breed HR tech solutions
  • You have a strong desire to build for scale, and are passionate about how technology can solve complex business problems that simplify the lives of our employees and users
  • Your interpersonal and communication skills are first class, allowing you to develop strong professional relationships. You think and act as We, not Me.
  • You will leverage your experience with project management methodologies to continuously drive improvements and automation with an emphasis on speed to action and quality implementations.





    Focusing on optimisation and reducing manual intervention you will play a vital role in supporting nearly 300 people group customers who are on a mission to empower Canvanauts to do the best work of their lives.
