The Director of Revenue will play a key role in managing our technical revenue accounting. This is a high visibility role within the accounting function and the individual will be a key contributor in our continued growth.

List of Responsibilities/Duties:
Develop whitepaper or accounting memos to support Company’s position or policy election on certain revenue recognition issues
Act as a technical accounting resource for the company by researching, resolving and documenting accounting issues that arise during new product introduction
Revenue subject matter expert collaborating with Sales, Legal, and Business Development teams to review and evaluate the impact of draft contracts for revenue recognition
Assist in month-end and quarter-end revenue close, including reconciliations and related fluctuation analysis and other reporting requirements
Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over revenue transactions and reporting. 
Help prepare data and other support information requests as needed for audits and reviews conducted by external auditors


Professional Experience/Background to be successful in this role:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Experience with Big 4 accounting firms and CPA (a plus)
  • Experience in a public company environment
  • Knowledge and hands on experience working with GAAP revenue recognition accounting standards including ASC 606
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing SaaS and Professional Services contracts to identify revenue-related issues for resolution and proper accounting treatment
  • Experience with NetSuite (a plus)
  • Demonstrated success with process improvement initiatives
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively work with all levels and cross-functionally

    Expected Outcomes in 3, 6, or 12 months:


  • Months 1-3 – Come on board and learn the revenue accounting policies and processes
  • Months 4-6 – Responsible for drafting accounting memos for various ad-hoc projects
  • Months 6-9 – Assist in making process improvements and assist in month-end close
  • Months 10-12 – Be fully ingrained in the revenue accounting process
