Atlassian is searching for a Senior Researcher to join our growing research team within our People Insights business unit. The successful candidate has the opportunity to make impact on a huge scale, partnering closely with our global People team to drive survey program design, implementation, analysis and reporting for our Atlassian-wide engagement and wellbeing initiative.

As a Senior Researcher at Atlassian, you will:


  • Bring deep experience in evidence-based employee engagement and wellbeing programs to our growing People Insights team within Atlassian’s Research & Service Experience group. This includes both subject matter expertise in the employee experience along with strong quantitative analysis skills.
  • Drive the experimental design of the survey program, its implementation, analysis (including advanced statistical analyses), and reporting for Atlassian’s key employee engagement initiative.
  • Advise on and guide the development of associated behaviour change offerings at the individual, team, and organisation level.
  • Partner with global teammates, leaders, the People team, and other stakeholders across the organisation to continue to understand current and emerging engagement challenges.
  • Meaningfully interpret data relative to business objectives and communicate analyses and insights through concise, credible communications for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactively identify and prioritise opportunities for employee engagement, wellbeing, and related research, driving the team’s ongoing research roadmap.
  • Prioritise ethical practices in the management, analysis and reporting of employee-related data, including the communication of sensitive insights to executives and leaders.
  • Experience engaging different stakeholders and conducting focus groups.

    Highly desirable:


  • Experience with Qualitative research (e.g. conducting focus groups, theme analyses etc.)
  • Experience with Qualtrics, or other related Employee Experience/ Engagement software.

    On day one, we expect you to have:


  • Background in Organisational Psychology, Organisational Development, or HR/ Business Analytics or 4+ years applied experience working as a subject matter expert within an organisation and/ or consulting to organisations. We expect to hear stories of how your research influenced People insights programs and evidence-based behaviour change within organisations.
  • Experience designing, implementing, analysing, and evaluating employee engagement and other lifecycle survey programs. Related, experience designing, implementing, analysing and evaluating intervention strategies (eg coaching) in support of employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistics, with an ability to identify and conduct analyses using multiple sources of organisational data to provide accurate, thoughtful actionable insights for optimising engagement and team effectiveness. Specifically, expertise in statistical analysis techniques such as regression, longitudinal analysis, factor analysis, clustering, hierarchical linear modelling.
  • Experience communicating research insights and recommendations to executives, HR, and functional leaders to inform and drive action.
  • Strong presentation skills, particularly when explaining data and connecting it to potential actions.
  • Experience using statistical packages such as R, Q/ DisplayR or SPSS.
