Product Manager Checkout

Adyen’s customers and partners usually choose Adyen when they look for an experienced partner to take care of handling their online payments. Checkout is Adyen’s flagship solution which allows businesses to start accepting payments with cards, wallets, gift cards and local payment methods on websites and mobile apps. It’s basically Adyen’s front door that’s used for our customers to initiate a payment with us!

Adyen’s Checkout product aims for offering our customers:

  • Easy and quick integration with our web, iOS & Android SDKs
  • Support for advanced use cases, such as customisations or industry-specific solutions, with our mature Checkout API
  • Future-proof solution to easily unlock new payment methods all around the world

We're looking for a candidate who's strongly passionate about the combination of e-commerce, payments, integrations and technology, including innovation of new features and functionalities. You'll be leading the Checkout vision and roadmap within our Payments solution. Whether we work with large partner platforms, medium sized local merchants, or major international enterprise businesses, our Checkout product has to meet and exceed our clients expectations and seamlessly fit into their systems. The fact that Checkout is used at a global scale adds additional (fun) challenges!

As Product Manager Checkout, you will be responsible for further building out our Checkout product. Checkout is already a widely used product and has a proven track record. Further future-proofing the product, working closely with our customers and developers all around the world and staying ahead of the competition will be your daily challenge.

You will work closely with the commercial teams, implementation teams and customers to explain our offering, and translate their feedback into product enhancements together with our development teams.

What you’ll do

  • You will be challenged to further future-proof Adyen’s flagship Checkout solution for processing online payments for the biggest customer brands in the world
  • You will work closely with the Checkout leadership team, consisting of the Checkout tech lead, and other product specialists within the team, to prioritise issues, and gather feedback
  • You will work closely together with your engineers, and with multiple teams within Adyen, as well as external partners to ensure the best offering for our customers
  • You will organise internal and external trainings to make sure that the latest features are being known and used
  • You will initiate sessions with our customers to gather feedback, and connect customers’ developers with our own developers to make the Checkout products better.

Who you are

  • 5-7 years of working experience in product roles related to e-commerce, integrations or payments, preferably B2B
  • You have an entrepreneurial track record and spot new commercial & product opportunities quickly
  • You are humble, curious and an extremely quick learner
  • You are able to understand complex challenges and convert them into structured solutions, which are actionable for both internal and external stakeholders
  • You can formulate a vision and are able to develop, adapt, and execute short and medium-term strategy for the Checkout product
  • You are a networker, speaker and storyteller
  • You are hands-on, have strong project management skills in which you take full ownership and control over your projects, and have the ability to manage priorities to get projects done in time
  • Know how to manage a project portfolio and you are able to create, manage, motivate, and hold accountable cross-functional teams required to develop and launch the product
  • You have solid interpersonal skills to communicate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders from varying disciplines and cultures
  • Your strong sense of initiative and self-motivation will add value to a fast-growing business
  • Some form of development / technical experience is needed.

Please note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
