This is Adyen

Our team members are motivated individuals that help each other do remarkable things every day. We face unique challenges and we solve those as a team. And together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that transform the way the world pays.

Partnerships Manager, Technical
We are looking for a Technical Partnerships Manager to join our Local Payments team in Singapore. In this role, you will help to expand and improve our local payment methods and be the go-to expert of a specific region – a key element to Adyen's offering and success. You will work among product managers, business analysts and developers to build and lead new projects across our global partners. The role requires someone who can work across technical and financial topics – building on their understanding and sharing their knowledge with internal stakeholders (such as Account Management, Sales, Marketing, and Support teams). Additionally, you will manage a portfolio of payment methods and fully own the relationships with the underlying partners. As such, the ideal candidate thrives in a diverse role across the entire product lifecycle – wearing many hats to see Adyen's goals through conception, implementation, and launch.

What you'll do

  • End-to-end responsibility on the technical capabilities of local payment methods. You will work closely with developers, implementation managers, and business teams to ensure we build the right products that suit Adyen and it's merchants
  • Identify what new payment methods have to offer, features, functionalities, and their limitations and how they would fit into Adyen's overall product offering
  • Scope a varying degree of projects, from minor improvements and bug fixes to significant changes in infrastructure and product. Ability to create a technical proposal that can be delivered to the developer for implementation
  • Enable the rest of the organisation to use all aspects of the Adyen product you are managing to the maximum by passing on your knowledge, including technical (features), commercial (pricing), and competition
  • Grasp commercial offers most effective for your market segment and guide the Sales team on their usage
  • Project Tracking and Implementation: Be the driving force behind proper project tracking and the continual implementation of needed tasks; ensure a source of truth for the tasks at hand

Who you are

  • Previous technical experience is a must (developer, tech support, implementation managers, tech writer), comfortable with reading languages such as:
    • Java, Python, Node.js, Go, PHP, Ruby, .NET
  • Experience seeing projects through from beginning to end and owning the entire process
Communication: Exceptional people skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels of management, both inside and outside of Adyen
  • The role itself is technical focus – someone who is comfortable scoping and evaluating if the local payment method would fit Adyen, before jumping into meetings with an engineer, product managers, commercial teams; tailoring messaging based on the audience
  • Ability to work seamlessly with a global, multicultural team
  • Proven record of high-performance managing complex initiatives to achieve outstanding results. A strong understanding of the importance of data, providing actionable insights and tracking the success of those initiatives.
  • Passionate about new technologies and have basic conversational knowledge of the following topics:
    • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL/NoSQL
    • API Design: REST, RPC, AsyncAPI, security, idempotency
    • Cloud or distributed computing: AWS/Azure/GCP, streaming, replication
    • Unix systems
    • Encryption standards
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops and design sessions and can balance technical with business goals
  • Payments experience is a plus
